It's not bad out here. Feels different without the masts of micromanagement (Roehl) on my six all the time. Been haulin equipment mostly. Heck my trip to the NW was a first as well. I'm pretty happy so far.
You're a madman out here! Keep burnin them miles! Safe travels.

5/21 reset
5/22 layover (+250.00)
5/23-5/24 San Antonio, Tx -- Mont Belvieu, TX -- GP, TX --- 554 miles
5/24-5/26 GP, TX -- Faribault, MN --- 1042 miles
5/26-5/27 Faribault, MN -- Cottage Grove, MN -- Sioux Falls, SD -- Spokane Valley, WA -- Seattle, WA --- 1095/2000ish miles
Week 51 (xxx miles, drops)
5/28-(5/29 reset)-5/30 Faribault, MN -- ditto --- 1000ish/2000ish miles
Well broke my string of 3200+ mile weeks with that San Antonio fiasco but I suppose with the layover pay computed to miles it would have been close. Doing my third reset in the last tree weeks which is unusual as I usually just run on recaps but could use the rest so no complaints. Hope to get a run back to Texas after this Seattle drop then one more out and back to Texas and then go home for a few days as I need an extended break. -
Excellent thread! Poly is on my short list, once I finish recoveringfrom surgery/chemo.
One thing I like about them is that all of their freight is no touch. Another is that the main in/out terminal is in TX. Of course, the consistency, and .50 hub miles helps.
Do they have apus/inverters? I noticed you have an igloo cooler, so that answers about fridges. All Petes? I'm about 50 miles from Brownstown - am I in their hiring zone? Do they let you take the tractor home? What does home time look like?
Do you think they're preparing you for elogs w that extra day? Is that on brokered loads too? Three weeks til payday? Every week after that, or every two weeks? Can you get an advance while waiting for first pay?
That's all I can think about right now. Look forward to your reply. Dang, you kick ###! -
Alright. I found the answers to most of my questions from other threads, so I'll let you off the hook. LOL please correct things that are wrong or outdated.
APUs/EPUs that may or may not work.
No idea on inverters.
No fridges.
Phasing/phased out the Internationals, replaced w various other brands/predominantly Petes.
They do hire out of everywhere except Cali.
You can dh home to a reasonable distance (100 mi?).
Home time is huge plus, at 7 business days (up to 11 days total) off, as long as you do 2000 mi/wk for the month preceding your time off (which is cake to get to).
Pay starts a week after you turn in your paperwork (by hand) to GP or Henderson.
$225 per week advance avail per week at $75 per Mon, We'd, and Fri.
If you could answer a couple things, plz...
Could you elaborate on the extra day on loads?
When is it looking like they're going electronic logs? (I'm good either way)
If you drive out west, they expect you to chain up, right?
You schedule mom n pop appointments?
Thanx again. -
If you run out west you are expected to chain. Was that if I didn't chain don't go west. They gave me autosocks instead of chains.
Mom an pop schedule your own.
Yes on inverters. I used a dorm fridge from Walmart.Knucklehead Thanks this. -

And the sorry excuse for a shop will hook it up.
Fridges yes, you buy your own.
Only 2 kinds of trucks,
Internationals and peterbuilts.
If you get a peterbuilt you can use a small
Cigarette lighter fridge or the one that should
Have came with the truck that poly didn't want
To pay for.
Cost 600 bucks and fits in the empty cabinet.
Again, the sorry excuse for a shop will put it in
For you. Theres not enough room for anything else
So I've heard from other drivers.
You can turn in paperwork at GP, up north,
Or Henderson.
Forget the paper logs, you will be on E-logs
Soon after you start.
There is no deadheading home, don't know where
You got that from. Not from the yard anyway.
If you live within a 150 of GP you will have to park
The truck at the yard and drive your car home.
If your over 150 miles they'll get you a load out
With time on it so you can go home with it.
You can't go home with a Backhaul load.
So forget those 10 days off if you want to take the
Truck home. You might get 3 or 4.
There truck is not gonna sit in your driveway for
10 days.
Leave the truck at the yard and go home as
Long as you want.
Keep a vehicle at the yard. So when the shop
Turns a 3 hour oil change into a 5 day ordeal
You can go home.
You will be tortured by the shop. That's by far
The number one reason for turnover here.
Forget all about having a extra day on loads.
Shipping out of GP is almost always late.
4,5,7,10 hours even a full day late getting you out
Of there. You'll be lucky on E- logs to make
The deliveries on time.
Up north and Henderson you won't have these
Problems. There almost always on time.Knucklehead Thanks this. -
I live in Michigan. So all I would get would be a few days off at a time?
-
Knucklehead Thanks this.
