Well guess you can't turn 4000 miles every week Got denied on the t-call and had to deliver the load myself to Temple, TX. Guess not much I could do about that except stop by the crib and got a day of bow hunting in to clear the mind. Decided to take the KC load but probably should have grabbed up the Rochester, NY load after thinking about it. Turned my truck in for a PM and some general #### that needs to be looked at. Managed to snag a nice, clean loaner. With any luck should still manage a 3K+ mile week if I get something decent out of KC.

Solid month, best ever miles at 15,389. Got a little screwed with the back haul not allowing me to get on the board on time for a Saturday load so lolligagging my way back to Dallas to drop this load tomorrow and then heading up to Detroit on Sunday.

Ended up with a decent week even after my original BH out of KC got cancelled. Picked up in one of those underground places in MO which are always kind of neat. Snagged up one of my favorite runs to Michigan but got waylaid a bit on the BH but it is working out. Ran a lot of Indiana back roads today to change the scenery up from orange cones and barrels to dried corn fields. Got detoured right through Purdue University and well makes me wish I was 21 and back at school after seeing the sights in passing Shaping up to be another solid week with the miles. Certainly glad all the impending doomsayers I talked to when I came back seem to have been mistaken regarding rolling up some big numbers. As far as I can tell things haven't changed a bit in that regard. -

Well didn't receive a call from outbound on Thursday so thought I was going to be doing an unneeded reset until Saturday but luckily they called me early Friday with a transfer to Henderson leaving that day. Had just enough hours left to make it out here today. Pretty solid running for the last 6 weeks or so. Taking a couple of day off here at the house and heading out Monday to SLC with a scheduled back haul picking up in Green River, UT and returning to Dallas. Already requested another Henderson load for next Friday out of GP. If it all works out should have another solid 6 days and be back in Vegas on next Saturday night to celebrate my birthday at Las Vegas Octoberfest Truck running well and just piling up as many miles as I can run. Looking forward to a couple of days of downtime with some gamboooling down town tonight. Hope everyone has a splendid weekend.radioshark Thanks this. -
There was plenty of "traffic enforcement" yesterday. The problem? The officers were not looking for anything but speeding. Witnessed multiple vehicles committing various dangerous violations (most notably tailgating and cutting off other vehicles) right in front of said officers, with impunity.
As long as they're just going to sit in the middle, only looking for that guy going X over the speed limit, nothing is going to change.MrEd Thanks this. -

Fairly slow week out west for me but did spend three days at home and made some money at the black jack tables so all is good. Waiting on load this afternoon that goes to Houston. Already put in a request for a transfer load from there back to Vegas which would give me a solid week before taking a few days off again back in Vegas.tucker Thanks this. -

Well not a direct trip to Vegas as picking up a load of pallets in Houston bound for Dallas area and then a trip home. Arrive the same time just different driving hours so all is good.
Also got to run a new section of road for me which was really nice. Only had 5 pallets and 3k lbs so decided to take US50 east of Grand Junction, Colo over to Texas Creek and CO 69 down to I25. Beautiful drive with very little traffic, not recommended if fully loaded or in winter but otherwise a splendid choice.Last edited: Oct 24, 2016

Decided to just take one day off at home when offered a load to Reno where my daughter lives. Had them load me up a day early so I could spend yesterday with her and perhaps take her trick or treating tonight depending on what back haul has in store for me. -

Well not exactly burning up the miles to start the week but only had 3 loads to choose from for Saturday and decided to take a 4 stopper up to Wisconsin. The last 3 weeks a little paltry but still not too shabby considering I haven't ran a full 7 days on any of them. Got the old grill fired up again tonight with some blackened tilapia and vegetables on tap. Suppose I will stay out and try to hit the second driver meeting and then perhaps take a few days off around Thanksgiving for some downtime and deer hunting in Arkansas.tucker Thanks this.
