While I certainly agree with the overall assessment of your thoughts there is indeed a pesky section. 395.8(1) in the FMCSR. "Every driver that operates a commercial motor vehicle shall record his/her duty status, in duplicate, for each 24 hour period......"

The word "shall" means the same thing as "may" when there is a constitutional doubt involved.
395.8 (e) is the Miranda Warning. It tells the driver that information in the logbook can be used to prosecute him/her.

Since we're getting very far afield here, anyone remember the song wolf creek pass? And if you do, do you know what he's talking about when he's says they're sucking toothpicks?

Everything you complained about in this one
none of these complaints you have here are a
    Issue at poly. None.
If your running short loads it's because you picked them.
The person who started this thread is running 1000
    Mile loads all day long.

They used to soak the toothpicks in speed way back when.

The guys I've talked to used an equine stimulant. Most of them are gone now. When I was a young a boy I didn't know it wasn't normal for people to stay awake for four five days straight. Prederegulation trucking was a very different animal.

Well got the best load out of Henderson in my opinion. Deliver anytime by Sunday in Blaine, WA. Must be getting soft as I think I am going to take a couple of extra days off to recoup here at the house and roll out on Friday for an easy three day trip if the weather is cooperating anyways.
