I could see where that would be a problem by for me I always give it about 3 cranks after the landing gear touches the ground

most likely she drops them after cranking down the landing gear thaT WAY WHEN SHE PULLS FROM UNDER THE LOADED TRAILER its much smoother also like when a person picks up a preloaded trailer that for what ever reason was already low to the ground to begin with u dump to slide under the trailer btw great thread guys
-
Either that or she just doesnt care... lol either way she did mention it.
-
You crank the landing gear down as normal. Just dumping the air bags gives it more clearence to go out. When backing under lower the air bags and it will be easyer on the drive lineIf the trailer is low. (WHEN BACKING UNDER WITH THE AIRBAGS DOWN ONLY BACK UNDER ENOUGH TO GET THE FITHWHEEL UNDER THE TRAILER. THEN INFLATE THEM. IF YOU DON'T YOU TAKE A CHANCE OF THE KING PIN GOING OVER THE FITHWHEEL. A REAL PITA.) If you ever do this you can use a 2x4 to hold up the fithwheel from the rear so you can drive out.

Yes thank you! But I understand there are a lot of Prime company trucks that do not come equipped with suspension air dump therefore those people dont have that option.
-
I would be suprised to see a newer truck without an airbag dump.
-
They've been ordering them without the airbag dump for years. Can't say this for sure, but with the class 8 production crunch it could be that Prime is just taking what they can get.

Thanks for the info guys. I might try it out sometime. Or i'll just ignore it.

Anyway. Got my first load! A short one to Tennessee, only about a 350 mile run and I had like 30 hours to do it.
But...............................................................
My brand new truck with 10k miles decided the brakes would screw up...bad.
Basically. Every time above around 30mph, I hit the brakes. The cab and steering wheel would shake real violently. I almost lost it going down one of Missouri famous hills due to this. Checked my tires, lug nuts, and looked at the brakes. Nothing is sticking out to me. Any ideas?
Anyway. So now I'm sitting at Freightliner right on the Tennessee border. Got an 0700 appointment tomorrow, so my load will have to be repowered. So I'm pretty annoyed. Luck just hasn't been with me lately it seems.
I was so excited to get out on my first run. For an easy load with tons of time, I was planning on being super early and happy with my first official done load. And then this happens. Argh!

That sucks man! Hopefully they can get that figured out. Maybe a bearing?

What an adventure you are having.

Hopefully, you'll get moving quickly.
