Things are going better. We drove 3200 miles this week. There is a lot of misconception about truck driving. For the new students coming in to prime and any other company you will have a lot of weird sleeping hours and there are times like today when you think you are going to be able to do a 34 hour reset but then you have to cover another load for a driver that ran out of hours. Overall though things are pretty good now. Remember to keep an open line of communication with your trainer though.

I am sure hoping to get a good trainer, I have a lot to learn and I want to learn it right the first time, hoping whoever I get has a good sense of humor and good to get a long with, knows the industry and enjoys teaching others.!

I'm new to Truckers Report. I've read this whole thread. I've been looking at Prime.
Was wondering how the OP (JimmyBones) was doing? Any new updates?

I'm doing dandy. Had a rough week this week, one of those Murphy's Law deals, not Prime's doing.

Making a good paycheck every week, and have a good relationship with my dispatcher.

    Still love my truck.

That's pretty good what do they pay for the Prostar? Is it the lightweight rate?

Yes. 36cpm base, 5cpm LW bonus, and all bonus and extra pays normally applied to any company truck.

We will run from Tennessee to Wisconsin and then back to the yard to test out. Looking forward to starting my tnt training and start getting paid for all of this driving. 3500 miles last week makes me kind of scratch my head and ask if ive become merely a steering wheel holder. But I jave learned a lot.

    Home time. :)

I have several doctors appointments, Spread out over the next several weeks, So my dispatcher is going to try to give me a temporary spot with the Walmart dedicated account out of Shelbyville.

Doing this, I can make my appointments at the Chattanooga and Nashville Veterans Administration hospitals, While still getting my work in.

Except for the weekend and evening times my dispatcher has been doing everything he could to help me out if I need it. I have nothing but good things to say about the normal day shift Dispatch guys for Prime.
