Orientation feels a lot like boot camp. A lot of hurry up and wait in a low rest, high stress environment.

As far as I can tell, they do it that way to weed out the folks with poor attitudes and a lack if punctuality.

What you pack for depends on how long you'll be side seating as a trainee, but your recruiter will give you a list if the basics. The only real advice I can give is this: pack light, but don't skimp on the socks and the skivvies.

It's getting to be that time of year, so that's a pretty decent idea.

Another good week so far this week, making up for a poor showing last week due to repairs. Already at 2315 miles.

The VA usually doesn't dawdle when dealing with education benefits. It's C&P they really have issues with. My wife uses MGIB and it is taken care of pretty quick.

Its a backlog if you are applying for the first time. If you already have your Certificate of Eligibility then its a breeze!

Yea, forgot about COE. Had to get one for my upcoming home loan, and that took a couple months.

It's already snowing in the high mountains a bit. If you have to get out on Vail Pass or up at the Eisenhower tunnel approaches, you'll want that jacket. OTOH, a shift later when you're in Kansas, it'll probably be 100 out! LOL!!
