What about Georgia? Do they still run CB's in their cars?

I've noticed some state hwy patrol cars run what looks like a 102 whip but it's shorter.

They are probably still on VHF-Low band.I used to love listening to scanner skip, especially California Highway patrol on 42 MHz.

I have noticed some GA county cops on I-85 (those drug sniffers) still run them. Mag mount antenna on the back.

Sparkys CB Shop? That won't be happening, since Sparkys has gone by way of the Doe-Doe bird...

As for RA, I guess they are "Hit and Miss", because I have also herd all the horror storys about Mike and his "Whacky-Pack" radios, but I also had bought at one time a General Lee from them and got nothing but compliments when I had the radio...Never had any issues what so ever from it.

I always just take what I read on the internet on some of these cb shops with a grain of salt since everyone has their own opinion of who does the best work...It could be to, that it may depend on "Who" at any shop does the work on the radio you get, as to how well they perform...Lot's of shops will have several different techs, so depending on which one does the work you may get a good deal, or you may get someone that just finished his 3rd shot of Jack Danial's poking his screwdriver in the back of your radio.

    Just never know...

    EZ Money Thanks this.

Is Al officially out of business? I remember when he was down and people kept buying stuff from his shop but not getting their orders...from what I gathered one of his employees was running the business into the ground, but supposedly Al is better now and trying to right the wrongs....?????

Yeah he closed up shop for good from what I hear. There's a couple of guys on some of the other Forums that live near his shop, and posted a while back that the shop is full of equipment that was sent in for repair, and is still just sitting in the store.

They finally took down the web site, and from what I herd it's not coming back.
