Sometimes I wonder if that's not on purpose and they are testing how smart a person is or how much they want the job...

Some sites though, I'd love nothing more than to shoot the person who gave it such a piss poor layout.

Anyways. Yeah, don't worry about it if you can't navigate too well on some of these sites. If it gets to be too much of a pain in the arse, go to google and type the address of the site and then type what you're looking for. Example: thetruckersreport.com vegantrucker

(if it's more than one word and you know the exact phrase, use quotes after the site.)

    Hopefully that helps.

Lots of shaky comments here. Buying used is not a guarantee of spending your big pile of hard earned cash fixing your truck. Buying new is a guarantee of a load of debt you'll have to carry while your truck is in the shop getting emissions, or electrical, or something fixed. Warranty? Sure, but who's paying those monthly bills while you're sitting in a motel somewhere?

$5K is too much to pay for a CDL school. Shop around. Also, no school will teach you how to be a truck driver. They'll teach you how to get a CDL, the rest comes once you're out there gaining experience and knowledge. I actually had a good experience with Swift Trans in Albuquerque. Paid my refresher school $2K plus miscellaneous testing around $250, got reimbursed, ran about 3K/week after a really miserable month with a trainer. Didn't make a lot of money, but some, running their loads on their trucks. If you don't like to be criticized and all that, don't call dispatch until and unless there's no other option.

Companies reimburse for training on a monthly payout, a year or year and a half. I don't see a problem with this method. They provide a service, they ought to be careful how they pay the money out. That's why you'll need to be careful who you choose - it works better if you can stay in the saddle for at least that first year.

Vegan, come on out for a year if you think you can stay away from your familiar life most of the time. Most companies allow 1 day off for one week worked. 4 weeks/month = 4 days off/month. Pretty tough, especially for a family man. But there's a lot of work and a good living can be made, steady work. Best.

Or there is another way. Get driving permit by yourself just reading book, rent a truck for $60 per hour to train, do cdl test with that truck. All together less than a $1000. Get a job with little mom and pop company from Craigslist, gross $1200-1400 per week, after a year buy a truck and lease to Land star.

Wild Murphy, Tennessee been look at it. I am moving to Fort Campbeel as my last move before I retire adn will live between Nashville and Clarksville. Seems most trucking companies higher out of TN. THanks I cant wait just past 21yrs in the Army and 12-24 left and putting away the uniform for a truck. Wingnut72

I work for Crete Carrier. They have a new terminal right outside Knoxville. They have certain benefits for military too. Check out all you can on the website, then watch their videos on YouTube. If you have any questions private message me.

Henderson doesn't do hair testing but honestly I think they should I wouldn't want someone out there driving an 80 thousand pound missile knowing they could be stoned, I do know it happens but I try not to think about that as long as your clean your fine.
