    not good.

i'll postpone my own home time if i'm with a student that needs something. coils especially. i've been given relays with illegally-loaded coils more times than i like to remember.

Wow, I was thinking of putting in an app for Roehl but with so much OP bad experience, I'm seriously reconsidering it.

Sitting around for days on end then getting the crappy trainer... not good.

I won't comment on how to secure things as I got a back lashing for making a joke on here.

    But I will say this.

Do I think brand new Roehl drivers with no experience get enough hands on? No. But you also can't generate freight out of the blue so that is what it is. Roehl do hand out these hands books which like Dorset said are filled with inaccuracies, but it gives a base idea on how to tackle a object.

For instance lets tag Meltom trucks into this. I delivered to Steel King, and a Meltom truck was picking up the steel racks on a regular flatbed. He asked me how to secure it, which tells me on such a tip easy load like that Meltom doesn't supply training on how to secure a load like that or even papers like Roehl does.

So Roehl does do a lot to help newer drivers out but you can't give all the new drivers candy when you have a limited pot to get it from.

Now I did explain my logic on how to do it, didnt tell him that it has to be this way because I'm no expert.

Plus securement gets pretty easy for loads you have the bases for. I think tarping is where training really falls short. But tarping is a art form and some times tarps just don't want to work :/.

    Ps. Lumbers tarps rule!
    (Not really)

    Edit:
Just a thought I wanted to add to.

I think being new specially in flatbed and to driving has to be a very difficult experience. Not only are you still learning how to drive solo now but you are on your own for securement and tarping. Has to be very stressful month or two. I know my my first month in dry box I was like holy crap am I going to hit that or am I maintaining my lane good enough, or checking my mirrors enough, or are my trailer tires still there, engine still running properly?

Then throw on load securement! Sheesh it is alot.

There are far more good experience then bad. Our trainers are not like that, that one just fell through the cracks. And Roehl will correct any wrongs you have with your trainer. They make you do a survey about the trainer at the end and the feedback is used to help improve training.

Basically asking the quality of your work.

I remember mine was on a point scale then feedback on how I felt it went. The issues I had, I was asked of I wanted them resolved but in all reality I had a huge personality difference with my trainer so I said no. Plus resolving probs was just a sit down between both of us and the terminal manager.

nobody ever asks me about doing any surveys.

but i lecture anybody who will hold still, so i suppose they wouldn't learn anything new from me if they did.

kind of sounds like it might be a good idea to go van for at least a month or 2 and then switch over to flatbed. what about reffer?? what is different between that and van?

Im thinking about getting a 2000 watts inverter, since the one in this 07 doesnt work along with 3/4 dc inputs smh. Kind of sad. Brand new 22 inch samsung, ps3 (old) and black ops 2 still in the wrapper because my truck doesnt have power.
