Wow, you sure have some issues there Mr. Blue. As I wrote earlier our pick up times tend to be windows not appts. I then mentioned the same is true for the other end. I didn't mean to confuse you but by the "Other end" that meant the del. They tend to be windows as well. We can and will be assigned a load on Monday that may not need to be delivered till midnight on Friday. If the load is only 500 miles disp. may well put a appt. time of 0700 Tuesday. Now if you can't, won't or whatever by then the del time will be backed up to suit your needs.
I hope this doesn't come out wrong but which large company president did you catch mama with. You seem to have some serious pent up anger there hoss. If you think working hourly is the way to go and that's what you have then what's got your panties bunched up. I have worked salary, hourly and piece rate and I will do nothing but piece rate now. Works for me and look ya don't see me laying into some hourly outfit on another board. OK now you try.

A person with passive aggressive tendency's should not engage in pseudo psychological critiques on how people may seem.
Your young, but maybe one day, giving 24/7 to a OTR company, truck stop, and rest area for a piece rate wage will be less appealing then spending time with friends and family for more then a couple days a month at a few bucks less.
Life is short my friend and giving almost all of it to a company that sees you as no more then a tool to complete a task ( unless you believe all of that we are family carp?) is only appealing it seems if you have nothing else or actually like living out of a truck for weeks at a time?
Let people describe their experiences and don't assume or wish them to conform to yours. You are welcome to be "laying into" anyone you want. I served five years for you to have that right and to also to reserve my right to do so also. -
Young? Well good thing I have that in writing. I will take that nugget and run with it.
I hate to be the one to break this to you there Blue but my company and yours have a common goal, They are both trying to make money. It odd but my self employed wife who has nothing to do with trucking is... wait for it... also trying to make money. I am a tool for my company and the day I no longer can proform I will be cast aside. Got news for ya, your company is the same. My point was (And still is) I like the advantage offered by working a piece rate. If I want/need to earn extra money this week I can. If I would rather maintain a four to five hundred mile a day average the company is fine with that as well. Finally if I want to play tourist for a week the boss doesn't give me any grief for that either.
When I last had an hourly job I recall my expectations and my employers expectations for a level of productivity didn't always mesh up. Now it has been a while but I imagine that still happens in the hourly workforce today. My final point was I am happy, you are happy(I hope). Why would I go to where you and others of your mindset(All being happy) for the sole purpose of telling you that you are wrong for feeling as you do. I see you posting a similar theme across every company thread but I doubt you worked at many of them. So again I wonder why? Why go to the trouble to rain on someone else's parade speculating on how different firms operate? Just seems odd to me that's all, but hey to each his own. -
Thought I saw earlier in this thread someone mentioned this company uses auto transmissions.
Is that correct? Thanks..... -
The trucks they got when they bought Bloome are Automatics. So now when you see a Blue Roehl truck it is a automatic
-
I had a truck about seven years or so ago that had an Eaton auto shift in it. I'm not sure if we are still buying them or not though. We may still have a few left from back when we did. Once you get used to them they aren't all that bad.
-
My current truck has an auto shift and it took me some getting used to. I prefer the stick, but you use what you have been given. It makes drinking coffee and lighting a cigarette easier, but that's about the highlight reel of it for me.

Those Bloome trucks are quite the diverse bunch. Hard to believe that company set their trucks up so differently. I had heard about the fridges but thought I was gettin' my chain yanked.
-
They are the real, compressor driven ones too. Since Roehl took over, I noticed there are a bunch fewer out there. Wonder why they have it in for cold beverages?
