I don't drink koolaid thank you and if I have a problem with the company I don't hesitate to say so. Sorry but so far it has been pretty good. Like I said We endured JB Hunt and NFI which sucked.

I haven't had to deal with the rider policy so I don't know what it is about it that you have a problem with.

I wish you didn't have to wait to be unloaded and have the receiver sign off on it before it can be trip scanned before 12 noon.

We have been getting miles and good pay. So what do you want me to do? Make up something just so I can gripe about them?:biggrin_25510:

Well its like I said earlier, I never said I thought Roehl was a bad company. All companies have good and bad, just some are worse than others. I would like to talk a bit more about the training with Roehl and other companies. I'm not sure what the policy for Roehl is with students vrs OJT, but I made 100 bux a day now is that worth driving 11hrs a day, for 7 days soild, then trying to sleep while the other driver is driving. I cant do it, not only are the roads just too friggin rough I simply am not comfortable with somone else driving. I read the other guy say the first week the student is observed while driving, so just guessing here after that it must be a team ran operation. So your saying after 7 days youd let a student with a weeks experience drive while you sleep>? Your a brave, brave man. Now back to the money issue I got 100 buxs a day, trainer was making .38 cent a mile. In a 11 driving day you can average roughly 550 miles, thats 209 bux plus I think its 20 bux a day while they have a student or OJT, so thats 229 buxs a day he makes for doing nothing but sleeping@@!! Now of course you wouldnt find anything wrong with that BECAUSE YOUR A TRAINER@@!! Now students, if the trainer was in the jump seat while the trainee was driving well he deserves extra money because he is "teaching" a new driver the ins and outs. But an OJT come on he aint teaching me nothing sleeping now is he>?? I didnt need him for anything I mean if you have worked with another company you should pretty much know how the job goes.

    Keep on trucking@@!!

Roehl's rider policy is a spouse or your own child 10 years or older. No girlfriends , friends, nephews, or brothers or sisters.

Actually its $40 a day for OJT, $65 for evo 1, $50 for evo 2. and paid for all the miles. If I have an OJT we usually run about 700 miles a day. So thats 700 x .42 + $40= $334. And yes if we are going across I-80 in Iowa I will be in back watching a movie or taking a nap. You have previous experience, do you really want someone constantly watching you for ten-eleven hours? Most students like being up there by themselves and getting to listen to their own music. The goal for OJT is for the trainer to make sure you can do the job and help you over some minor rough spots like logging how Roehl wants it done and how to use the qualcom. You should already know how to drive that is why the trainer is making less per day than having a brand new student. Is driving all day worth $100? Of course not but you are still in training. Does a apprentice plumber make as much as a journeyman? Why not, aren't they are doing the same job? At least Roehl didn't make you go through the whole training process like the last guy I had from USExpress. It was only a week and you made it.

Sounds like someone needs to go work for CR England. :biggrin_2559:

Im trying to kick off my driving career as many others are doing. I dont see a point in starting off with a crap company just to 'pay your dues', if you can find a better company. If youre going to do something as important as a change in your life, you might as well do it right the first time.
    Im calling Roehl later today.

I got the shaft at Roehl for not having a doctors approval. Dont give me this crap that Roehl has high standards. If this were so then JB Hunt has the highest standards since they only accept 20% of the people they bring into orientation. But I dont have ill regards towards Roehl anymore since most companies do this and I was a rookie driver at the time.

Doctors approval for what? High standards and JB Hunt should never be used in the same sentence unless it's the lack of. Glad you moved on.
