My "Rotten" CRST Experience

...are you gonna be around Bushnell/Wildwood for any length of time? I'ld like to get together and catch up on things.

What does the school cost anyhow? Hubby's toughing it out till the end of June to avoid paying for the lame excuse of a two week school he had to go through ... until he has his 8 months in, but we have no idea what the 'school' actually costs? What would he have to pay back if he did quit before his 9 months? He went to the CRST school outside of Detroit. Anyone know?

 

Was talking to hubby today and he'd talked to a guy who had worked for CRST for 14 years before he quit [apparently it used to actually BE a decent company to work for at one time ... but I digress] ... anyhow after 14 years he was still only making 38 cents a mile! Now the guy's driving for some company with 'Express' in their name [already forgot it] and he started at 42 cents a mile!

 

That's odd because starting pay for a driver with 5 yrs exp is .43/cpm or so.

 

My husband has over five years of long haul driving experience, BUT it has not been steady over the past 15 years or so and it had been about two years since he'd driven. Because of that CRST required he go to their trucking school and they started him at .22 cpm. His co driver has been with CRST for about three years and is still only getting about .32 cpm.

 

So many stories. If he needs training the he does not have the experience. That's ok we'll take good care of hubby. No but seriously, I can't believe the stuff on here...
