that had always been one of my fears, of dying on the road, and how long it would take my family to be notified and getting the body back home.
FlaSwampRat, mjd4277 and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
I hear you there, man. I'm not getting any younger; still a good 10 until retirement though.. (i HOPE....) .. Just kinda jolts ya 'too' awake if you know what I mean.FlaSwampRat, Cat sdp, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this.

this is why, if on meds, take them per the script, eat a proper diet, not a whole lotta greasy foods, get regular yearly check ups, have a WILL made out, have your funeral pre-arranged (lessens the strain on the family to do it in a hurry) get some exercise..
i do (or have done) all of these things, and no one really knows when the BIG guy is gonna take you.
but at least, getting a few things done...pre-death....helps the survivors.FlaSwampRat and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
How does he keep going long enough for the police to arrive and deploy "stop sticks"?
G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Automatic in "drive" I would think
RIP driverG13Tomcat Thanks this. -
Computer is driving the truck applying power through the automatic at cruise probably. Easy enough situation to be in if you passed away quickly.
If that was to happen arrangments already are completed and paid, 3 days to crematory and mail the ashes to a designated disposal by executor. No problems.
Except one. Hopefully that truck does not take out say 20 people or more on set cruise speed. -
Well....I Must hand it to the driver (rip) For getting it against the wall and slowing it down.....
Selfless act in my book- Yes it could have been much worse.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
There was SO much chatter on the CB (imagine that, right?) That I couldn't make heads nor tales from my location a 1/2 mile or so back...but what I 'did' deduce from it, is that he was 'coasting.' IMHO I really think he knew something was going wrong, and tried to stop on the left berm ... and didn't. I'm not real familiar w/Prime, it could have been a manual coasting in neutral, or an I'shift, coasting as well. I don't think cruise control was a factor. I really believed he was trying to slow / stop the rig. Wish I had an SD card in the CB... I'd post. Was pretty awful, tbh though. Once again, why I favor a manual. Chances are, one would stall out during a med' emergency, not being able to grab gears (or knobs, obviously.)
Off to bed..... still shakes ya up.
Tomcat.FlaSwampRat and x1Heavy Thank this. -
If I could hit 'like' 20 times, I would. Agreed.88 Alpha and stayinback Thank this.
