Breakdowns always suck but look at the positive, you'll still have a check the next 3-4 weeks. Sure beats a cpm lease purchase!

Your posts really give a good view of how the L/P program works. I am interested to know how sammons views returning truckers. I have moved to MT from just north of Boston, and I'm not making it in this economy. When I got out of the Army years ago I drove fright and truck loads all over New Engand, And NY. Including NY city etc.
I'm wondering if I could make my own business work. Any input?

how long have you been out of the industry and do you have any open deck experience? as for making it work that is something you have to decide you want, if you willing to put in the work, with the support of sammons you can make it, their is a learning curve with out the system works here, but not to hard to figer out -
Hey everyone been a busy 2 weeks, i got my truck fixed on the 13th after delivering the load of hot tubs in Missoula, after that i grabbed a load of absorbent pellets out of idaho and took them a RIG 99 in New Town ND, from their i bounce to Gwinner ND and picked up a load of bobcats bound for Denver and Colorado Springs and ran that over the weekend. well i was in the middle of no where Nebraska and developed a coolant leak (GREAT) anyways i was able to limp to Big Springs at the pilot, and found the problem and fixed it, cost me $10 in parts and about an hour to fix it my self no more coolant leak. got the bob cats delivered monday mid day and bounce to Hays KS for a load of scaffolding. Went to load that Tuesday morning and well by 3 pm it was loaded and i was ready to head to Kent WA and i only got $100 from the broker for 7 hours, but i guess that is better than nothing...
I delivered the load of scaffolding this morning in Kent, and had 2 loads booked to take care of most of next week, i called the broker for the 1st load out of Rathdrum ID, to see where i am loading, and he says well i don't think we are going to get it done they want it loaded today and deliverd on Saturday, well thats not gonna work for me as my other reload is set for Tuesday in Sparks, and i had planed to be home for atleast some of the weekend with the family. He says let me see what i can do i'll call you in an hour, ok 2 hours later he calls and says i won't know what we can do till 5 pm well that wont work for me either gotta know whats going on, so i decided to just cancel that load and find another one.
Well my wife found me a load out of Spokane going to Janesville Cali, that doesn't unload till Tuesday morning with a higher rate, so score that worked out, and only a 90 mile bounce to Reno for the next load
so i am still loving the company and how things work
thanks for continuing to read and you all have a good weekend
ps for some reason i didn't take a picture of the bob cats but here is the other twoAttached Files:

I guess it has been about 20 years, seems like yesterday though. I did some flat bed work and general fright truck loads, and drive jet fuel tanker in the service. OnceI get the hang of a system though I really make things work out. I like the sound of the independence you guys at sammons have.
