My Sammons experience

This has been a great thread to follow. I read everything to this point. At first I was kinda getting on board with the idea. I just don't see the great advantage to any lease/purchase system. I get the whole choose your own adventure thing, master of my own destiny, we all want that. It just seems like the lease holder comes out the best in the end. Sammons lease sounds good on the surface compared to others. I checked out their website too. But still doesn't look like you make much more than driving someone else's truck and you get all the risk. From the arm chair quarterback position it would seem when you lease a used truck with 350,000 miles on it after 4 years you finally get that truck paid off it's got close to a million miles on it. Now when you finally get out from under the truck payments and can make good money you would get into larger and larger maintenance costs. Being I've never taken the risk of running my own business I may be missing the advantage vs. the risk. I'd be curios how you feel once all your taxes are done for your first year. Seems like that would tell the real story after all the income and expenses deducted and taxes are paid. Good posting on your experiences. Good luck.

I used to be with them in 2000 / jan. 2003 they were good honest company not a lot of frieght but no flatbed company had any frieght then. I still recomened drivers to them
