Chet, the respect you will get at sammons is the best i have seen at the companies i have been at, your a person not a number and they really do care and make sure if they can do something to help out they do it.. as for picking our own loads it is great go where you want to go and hauling what you want to haul. i have used a load board twice do get out of an area instead of sitting, and the agents have a certain rate they have to meet or they don't get as much of a percentage off the load so we don't see much cheap freight, but that can back fire when your trying to get a load thats a little low off a load board they will try to talk you out of it but if you have done the leg work they just have to get the load confirmation
checkout their facebook page http://www.facebook.com/SAMMONSTRUCK and ask questions their, alot of the contractors check in their daily
their website is www.sammonstrucking.com (406) 728-2600 hope this helps you out and i hope i didn't break any forum rules here

we got unloaded early monday morning and got with the agent and he was able to get me one of the crane loads that came back home, was a bit of a bounce but that seems to be the norm for williston, I unloaded the crane parts this morning and am taking a few more days off then reload in Umatilla headed back to williston staying busy.
i had a great month for june and once i get my settles for last month i will post up the numbers. thanks all for checking in -
NWMAXI, thanks for the info. I keep hearing about how well Sammons treats their contractors. It sounds like you found a home at Sammons. Question fot you, I live just off the. I94 corridor near Eau Claire WI. Is that a good lane to be on for Sammons. Do they have alot of east west freight?
Thanks again for the reply. -
Chet, i can't answer that as i don't run their much i try to stay west and have been making it work for now, the one time i was in that area i got out the same day with a good rate but i don't know if that is the norm or not
bagman12002 Thanks this. -
Great thread do u know what there freight is like in the east? Are you happy with your equipment? Seriously considering them. Do you get weekly settlements?

The southeast is usually strong from what I hear. And love the volvo and the trailer is a 2012 so it is great as well. If your an owner bringing on your truck you weekly settlements in the L/O you get 40% the day you load and the other 60% the day after paperwork clears
-
So they work alot like landstar. Do you have to use the 40% for fuel or is that taken out of you settlement. Id be a l/o dont have my truck anymore.
-
no the 40/60 is your wage, fuel is done with comdata, with sammons as long as your working you take money home
-
Hi Nwmaxi. One of these thread said sammons l/o made around $500 to $700 a week. Is that after taxes or before taxes? What kind of miles are you getting each week? We could live off of $600 a week take home but $500 a week would be real tight. That really is the only thing holding me back. Thanks
