My school days

I am excited about starting my school this weekend it will be 10 weeks at Ohio Business College this will be my blog so you can all follow along on my progress I already got my DOT physical and ready for class !

 

Day 1 Sat Aug 24th lots of paper work and introductions then we hit the books right away about drugs and alcohol then we go to go out to the trucks and showed us a 10 speed truck and a auto transmission truck then we got to go in and put it in reverese and in 1st gear to get a feel for the clutch and that clutch is a killer on your leg! then it was back in the class room for more reading.


Day 2 Sun Aug 25th first thing when we get there and go out in the yard and learned out to hook and unhook a trailer that seemed pretty easy then we learned the backing maneuvers straight line, ally dock, parallel parking, and lane change we got to get in and try the lane change that is so hard the trailer seems like it has a mind of its own and goes where it wants too and that clutch again is a leg killer then after lunch it was back in the class room for more reading again we read about hazards, weather conditions, night driving, and rail road crossings. I gotta give my left leg a work out lol

 

Day 3 Sat Aug 31 firsts thing was we read chapters on Hours of service, (got to see and learn out to fill out a log book) International driving, Trip planning (learned how to read a truckers atlas) and watch videos on roll overs and how to use cat scales.


Day 4 Sun Sept 1st today was videos all day on the highway patrol and securing loads. and also read accident procedures, security of cargo, and personal health and safety next sat will be a open book test on the FMCSA handbook a open book test then will be out in the yard the rest of the time.
