Lol...I would think you'd know. You've been in the game a long time. For some people, it's no longer fun to run like that. For me it still is.

Ok, you sidestepped the question and really didn’t acknowledge what I said. The nut is only so big in the for hire truckload market. You know rates and you know what your truck made. Where do you propose the money would come from to just decide to pay everyone for everything that you keep bringing up in just about every post ever since you’ve been a Walmart employee? If the money isn’t there then it isn’t there. Businesses that don’t make a profit are called a hobby, and hobbies that cost a lot of money tend to not last long. I doubt when you had your truck that you could’ve paid yourself for everything you say everyone should be paid for and then had money to keep the business running at the end of the day.gentleroger and bryan21384 Thank this.

Have you considered that it is possible for one to not be paid for "their time" and still be paid fairly?tscottme, gentleroger, GreenPete359 and 1 other person Thank this.

Thank you for the great advise. It's spot on. Let's hope that others take note of your post. However, I retired in 2024 at age 60. 33 years driving having spent the last 30 years as a Teamster Union Tanker driver hauling chemicals. That was the easiest work I have ever done and home every afternoon. Trucking was never a lifestyle for me. It provided me the lifestyle that I have.GreenPete359 Thanks this.

I'm not proposing any wholesale changes to the industry. Drivers that want to get compensated properly can move into the jobs that do it.
