Week 2 Day 3 - Today watched 4 people from my class get bumped back into the class behind us because they were having problems driving the trucks.
Got to drive on the roads today for the first time. They had us in an industrial area so it wasnt much traffic. They said that tomorrow we will hit the freeway.
Not really much else to report.

Sorry that I havent been keeping this updated. For the most part we have been driving the streets and waiting on trains (train tracks by the yard always seem to be blocked).
This week we practiced backing. This was intimidating but once I got going I enjoyed it. There are 4 or 5 different types of backing maneuvers that we practiced. The one that looked the hardest was called Hunts Point after an actual dock in Hunts Point NY. I did this one twice. The first time with the instructor at my door telling me when to turn and the second time with no help. I actually did pretty good the second time. Only 2 pull ups!
Anyway, we are doing a logbook excercise and a trip plan today then we take 3 tests. This afternoon we go through the payroll process then get assigned a trainer. Hopefully we will get to go out tomorrow.
This has been a loooong 3 weeks, but it actually went by quick if that makes any sense...
Y'all take care. Not sure how much internet access I will have on the road for awhile. -
Now all we need to hear is your 'road' experience!
Good luck. -
Good luck dude

Flew out this morning to Amarillo. Several of the others flew out to Houston, Little Rock and El Paso to meet their trainers.
I got to the T/A here in Amarillo about 930a and will have to wait until my trainer shows up around 4p then we are off to California with a load.
Im just glad that I have an internet signal here but I am trying to find a place to plug my laptop in because its almost dead. -
$7,000? What a rip off!

With that said, if you dont like it, dont sign. Otherwise, deal with it.TRKRSHONEY and nascarchuck Thank this. -
nascarchuck Thanks this.

Stevens could do it for free and some overopinionated apes will still say it's a rip off.
throw them a bananna and ignore them.nascarchuck, DenaliDad and freight88 Thank this. -
Met up with my trainer in Amarillo, TX and we now waiting to be unloaded in Fullerton, CA. Then going to Oxnard, CA to get a load for somewhere in Indiana.
Drove about 250 miles yesterday and so far about 80 or so today. Also got my first (of 2 required w/o jake) mountain this morning.
So far getting along with my trainer and I think that I will learn alot from him. He hasnt even yelled at me yet!
