We finally made it to WalMart today and I bought some canned goods so I can at least take them into a truckstop or a shipper/receiver and use a m/w to heat it up. This will help with the finances.
Also wish that we had more time for a shower. I aint used to not showering! Yuk!
Other than that I cant complain. The only things I have left to do is make a run into the NE region and bump a dock in the NE. Other than that I just neeed to complete my miles. Im around 1500 right now.
The only thing that I have had problems with is shifting. The trucks at scool have 10 spd's and the trucks on the road have 8 spd's. Its not that bad but just different shift speeds. Also in school they taught us to downshift AT the designated speed but its actually below. Im just getting this figured out.
Anyway, its going good and Im happy I made the choice to join Stevens.
Oh Frog, I'll be ready in about 4 more weeks so hold a spot for me! -
Hey Nascar, good luck with Stevens... I have my phone interview tomorrow with Stevens and this thread helps me out to know what I will be expecting. As of right now I have to choose a start day, but I will give an ample amout of time for me to shed a few pounds and allow me to train someone with my current job. Keep us updated!
nascarchuck Thanks this. -
Don't fret. You'll be off the truck soon enough. And think...you won't have to worry about having gained weight!
Keep the baby, Faith! -
Well after countless hrs of reading and doing my homework i have found the place for me . I am headed to Dallas the week of July 4th! I just wanted to thank everyone for their post and documenting their journey with Stevens it has helped make this long process a lot less stressful
