this is why I would never be anything more than a 1-truck chuck.
-
It is because I have no governor on my truck..... Never heard of time traveling? Gotta go pretty fast for that to work correctly.Ruthless, Criminey Jade and Cranky Yankee Thank this.
-

Yep they are steel belted...
Cranky Yankee and icsheeple Thank this. -
I ...sent him home Friday... I called him on monday his phone was turned off. Always, define before home time, when their expected to return to duty. Set a specific Time to call in, Also, next step...be on call while looking for freight. or have the next pickup worked prior to home time & tell the driver when & where to be on monday.
Tuesday He finally called me...So I got him a load going to Buffalo, NY his home is Harrisville, PA. He picks up goes to Buffalo Next load missed due to poor communication. Again, define how communication will take place. (reaffirm you will not call & disturb your driver during set hours. however, afterwards...your gabby.)
subject: Returned to my house
John. waited till 17:00 hours yesterday no call. Returned to my house...
Not that he tried calling me but because I didn't call him This is a problem, you need to set the tone...call ur driver.
he took it upon himself to driver 172 miles to go home Driver error, (Curious, how long has ur driver been driving, what expectations have you established about them driving home. )
...his drive home...cost me $2500 in loads. Speak very nice to your driver, give him a load in your region, pick up truck @ delivery. (at this time, i would have a long chat...suspension is still an alternative) I would call but im sure his phone is turned off. Your creating problems that others Managers/Owners wont see...communication requires energy, practice & repetition...try it. Call your driver ask them how they are doing personally. Such as: are they getting plenty of rest, exercise...eating the right foods.
I have also noticed some suspicious activity his been buying a lot of anti freeze and sending me receipts said my clamp on a hose broke and he had to buy antifreeze. like 7 gallons of it. Small Leaks do eat up revenue. Relief, your driver added coolant & a wrecker wasnt involved by not adding the coolant...the case of suspect coolant.
well we checked into it when we noticed they were from oriley and Wallmart and come to find out they don't sell the antifreeze for heavy duty trucks they antifreeze hes been getting is for cars. I checked into it too: Wheres the harm...get the leaked fixed. Then have the coolant checked...if necessary make adjustment...(what adjustment u maybe asking urself) if, its your concern he added a silicated coolant. (Silicated Coolant is a Long term use problem, not short term. However, wally world does sell non-silicated coolant too. It's possible, the clerk wouldnt be able to define this issue, since they do focus on small cars.
So I start going over more receipts and also looks like hes been stealing fuel getting more fuel then the tanks hold. HOW...? myself, im not impressed by your declaration.
I want to just route him back and fire him but afraid hes going to do something to my truck. what are my legal options and how can I get my truck back safely There is always alternatives...OOwannaBE Thanks this. -
I didn't know there was a difference in conventional green coolant. I've used Orielly's conventional green in the past. I can't see what the difference would be. I have seen Peak offers a conventional green that says its for cars and trucks on the jug, but what's the difference if were just talking about conventional green?
I could see a difference if your running the red, blue, or yellow stuff. -
Conventional Green is not silicate free. Only long life & global are silicate free. Long term "Conventional green" useage, depending on your motor, may lead to seal failure.
The following was cut n pasted from an Advance Auto Parts web-site:

Is it silicate-free?

Your truck, your freight, your rules. End of story.
It sounds like you treated him well.
Drive to his house with your spare keys, clean the truck out, and have your othet half follow you home. Then, I would pursue legal action for what he stole from you.
No. -
Not sure if anyone caught it but I asked a Q a few pages back....."Whos owns the cell phone? IME, there can be many reasons a fella might not answer his phone. Dead battery, lost charger, gave it to the wife, gave it to the kid, dont want to waste minutes, bad service, didn't pay the bill my phone I will answer it if I want.
But there can be no reason not to answer the company phone that I give him. If I leave a message I better get a call back PDQ....365 days a year. It's a condition of employment.
And it has GPS.Wave000, cnsper, Cranky Yankee and 2 others Thank this.
