Heading to the Wilmington, NC, terminal this morning to do paperwork. I've passed all the pre hire screening and the driving test. Now it's time to begin their training and evaluation process as a new CDL graduate.
I'll try to provide updates along the way.

Did a boat load of paperwork with the terminal manager then got introduced around. Was assigned to a trainer to follow for a couple of weeks. He's a local driver so he went over a few things unique to tankers and how Superior operates with drivers.
I went along on a short 10 mile trip to get a tank filled for a system guy to haul tomorrow. He walked me thru every procedure and explained everything along the way. He even got into the Qualcomm, which I will be operating tomorrow as we make a few runs.
Once back at the yard I did back the tank for a while and maneuvered around the yard. We crawled all over a tank and spent a good half hour or more standing on top as he explained various parts, checks, and how everything worked up there.
Overall it was a great day and Superior is looking like an outstanding company.
Jack, the terminal manager, offered a hotel since it is a 2 hour drive to the terminal and of course the same back home. I'll stay in a hotel next week as I finish up local training. The week after that I will be out with a system trainer OTR.
I will try to keep these reasonably shortmotocross25 and wsyrob Thank this. -
Great update! It sounds like they're taking their time and going over everything. That's good. I'm looking forward to the next update.

I've heard nothing but good things about Superior. You've made the right choice in a starter company, IMO.
Mortarmaggot, slim shady and motocross25 Thank this. -

Grabbed 5 loads from the local Chem plant with, Jeff, my trainer. I entered info on the Qualcomm and did the hook and unhook of the tank, along with pretrips, closing tank up, and attaching seals.
I got my plant access card for that location.
Finished up the day prepositioning an empty tank for the morning.
Learned that NC terminals aren't set up for the apprenticeship program. Gave Jack the paperwork drivers need to fill out. He's already putting the program together and it will be done soon.
I has asked the recruiter and she said they do it. It's by location, so she probably didn't know that. Greer already has it set up and Jack is working with the guy down their to get NC squared away.
That's day two in the books, and it's great.Last edited: Aug 24, 2017

What is the apprenticeship program? Never heard of it.
