I just read every post in this thread and have to say it is one of the most positive threads I have ever read on here! Having a positive attitude like you folks do is what will help you during some of the tough times you will have ahead of you. Hang in there even when you think you don't have it in you DON'T give up. You may not know your own strength, but you will soon enough! You will look back at this training time and be grateful for every moment both good and bad! I trained 10 years ago and can still remember "Following Distance" being drilled into our heads.
I am hoping mu husband and I can get signed on with Swift as a team. He has no experience other than Military so he will go through school first but with any luck....
Thank you to those who are posting your training exp. it means a lot to a us searching for answers....please keep posting![]()

Texas-Nana and JustSonny Thank this. -
as has been said before Swift is what you make it. make sure you sit down with your DM and tell him what your strenghts and weakness's are. he can then work you better and keep you moving. I was at terminals and seen guys sitting for days and My dm had me on the road in hours. he would even ask me to look at the route and see if anything bugged me like snowy mountains in Denver. went from Ut to denver in the snow with no jakes Trailer brakes hot as hell but I did it and when I hit bottom I looked back up the hill and said I can drive anywhere then went and got the jakes fixed. Learned a lesson too always check your jakes BEFORE the hills.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
