    Guys,

I took my strightline and passed on the second try. Tomorrow I'll my pretrip. Because of weather, we had an additional classroom class. It is tough and exhausting. My legs feel like jello but I love the area here and in TN. It is crappy weather here and the instructors here are good. I happened to be faced with a challenge I was not ready for. Game on. I will prove to the instructors and fellow students what I am made of.

    My roomate:

He was supposed to go a different room but I keep my room very cold. He leaves tommorrow providing he passes his backing skills. Wade is the nicest person. Hes told people to leave me alone. He needed a shirt, I gave him one of my own. Why spend money when I over packed??

    Tazaaa,

Ask to room with me. If you do not get too ask to anyways.

I miss home but love it here even more. I miss my dad and love him dearly and miss step moms cooking. I am going to suceed and have the will and heart to do so. My dad and injun have helped me but i am choosing to do this for this where my soul belongs.

I will this: Swift will make sure you have everything needed to pass the cdl skills and pre-trip. Is it easy??? Nooo and i like a challenge.

    KH

Hunter, YOU are one fortunate fella!!! The outpouring of support and good wishes from so many contributors on these recent pages, is a shining testament to just how well liked and respected you have become to alot of real world truckers. There is no need to worry about any derogatory and childish remarks from a bunch of trucker wannabes when you already have the support of so many who are the real deal. Honestly, should anyone take serioulsy negative comments from someone who chooses to call himself "BAM"! The poor guy sounds like an accident that's already happened.

And congrats to you for passing the straight backing, we all have no doubt that you will also prevail in each successive task required of you.
Since its the weekend, I thought a little humor might be in order. I lived in London for several years back in the mid 60's, and developed an appreciation for British humor that's not always shared by my fellow Yanks. For whatever it may be worth, it might be fun to look back at what another King (Arthur...!) had to endure while pursuing his quest.
Its good to keep in mind that no matter what our detractors may throw at us, we are the only ones who determine whether we succeed or not.
My dear sweet Mother used to say: "All the water in the deepest ocean cannot sink even the smallest of boats... unless it gets inside."

When you eventually get assigned your own rig, the challenges will really begin. At times it will seem like everyone and everything is working in concert against you. Driver mgrs, dispatchers, load planners, shippers and recievers, shop personnal, customer service reps, lumpers, gate guards, bad traffic and suicidal four wheelers, etc., etc., will seemingly all conspire with one purpose in mind: to prevent or at least hinder you from doing your job. Like bugs on the windshield they will obstruct your view only if you let them. You are indeed very blessed to have so many experienced hands and proven peers here who stand ready and eager to assist with the windshield duties as needed.

Truck driving for me has been a post retirement endeavor, and perhaps the most unexpected and serendipitous discovery has been my being the receipient of assisstance from so many unknown trucker samaritans. I could fill a book describing only just some of the times other drivers have unselfishly given of themselves to help me out of a tough or embarassing situation. And when your time comes to offer help and encouragement to those likewise struggling with their new profession, unlike some of those that surrround you now, we all know that YOU are someone who others can count on to step up and do the right thing.

And to those who may be inclined to taunt you, ALL TOGETHER NOW DRIVERS: WE FAAARRT IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION!!!

Just remember....those who throw the insults have bigger insecurities than you'll EVER have, KH! That's why they act like such peckerheads.

Keep swingin', man....we're all here, waiting to hear the next sucessful chapter!
