Traffic can be stressful, for sure, especially if the lanes are very narrow.

Dealing with other drivers often times means just having more patience, and slowing down a bit to give more room. (You'll never lose as much time by slowing down, as you would to getting in an accident.)

The stresses of dealing with shippers/receivers and the schedules that they demand... well, if I get a pre-plan that doesn't give me enough time to make the delivery safely - I turn it down.
If time is that tight, they can assign it to a team.
And if the time is very loose I can either try to T-call the load or just enjoy the extra time I have and relax, get some extra sleep, do some laundry, see a sight, whatever.

I don't have the stress involved with being away from home for long periods, so I am not qualified to comment on that part.

Kinghunter, that was a very good and kind thing you did, giving your food to the people that were so kind to give you that ride.
Never feel bad about doing the right thing.

While I would like to see KH achieve his dreams, I have to be realistic. If you cannot deal with the stress of school, then you certainly cannot deal with the stress of the real world experiences...

Why do you think I do not drive a truck? I am a REALIST! While I can handle the truck, I have a hot temper that would get me in more trouble than I could get out of...

Crazysexlover, there are many details most of us are not privy to. KH knows exactly what happened. I have more details than most. This story goes deeper than the words written here. I feel terrible that KH found it necessary to react in the manner he did and I wish it had ended better. He really does have an incredible mind with vast capabilities most of us will never understand. His mind is so busy dealing with those remarkable things that it doesn't have time for day-to-day nonsense.

Always remember: There are three sides to every story...your side, their side and the truth-which usually lies somewhere in the middle.

Thanks Injun and you are right, I don't know what happened but whatever happened end up with KH going home which isn't good. Thanks for the advice and I remember that the next time.

I never said in any way or form that stress was the cause of my dismissal. I will say that from what I have heard each school does has their own ways. If I cant get what I determine to be the proper help, then I will quit and take my business elsewhere (I was told I was welcomed back at Roadmaster anytime for a refresher by the director). I complained three times and got no help for a single issue. I went by their book and received no help. The range supervisor, David Mays, told people to leave me alone. Thats it.

    Back on topic...

I'm disappointed on how this worked out for you KH. Maybe you didn't get the support you needed while at the academy, but you certainly got plenty of it here! I hope and pray you find the situation that allows you to do what you want to do. As others mentioned, there's a lot of trucking related opportunities out there, I encourage your to follow your dreams but consider all options!

I've reopened the thread. There are a few posts I'll likely remove in just a bit to clean up the thread a little. In the mean time please get back on topic.

    Thank You!

King Hunter needs a mentor in my opinion.

I question his skills as a potiential truck driver. He needs a seasoned driver to evaluate his potential.

I was lucky to have been born into a truck driving family. King Hunter was not. I think he is too concerned with CLASS ROOM training.

I really think if KH spent some time out in the real trucking world he would have a better understanding of how REALITY is.

    I wish him luck.

King Hunter I gained my truck driving knowledge from seasoned old timers that spent their lives driving trucks. Seek out the old timers they will teach you better than any BOOK or Training program. That is my opinion.
