Delivered my load to US foods services then had a work assignment to pick up a load in Granite City, IL. On the way I stopped at the Madison terminal to take a shower since I had plenty of time. Picked up my load and drove to State Line truck stop off of US 67. The food was good there! Then headed to Walmart Dist in Searcy to deliver a load. Then in honor of Friday the 13th I'll be going to Batesville, AR to pick up a load.

Love the State Line truck stop's food.
storm2004 Thanks this. -
Got to Batesville early to pick up my load. They got me loaded really fast. I didn't check the consignee on the bills (should have). My FM called me as I crossed over into TX turns out I picked up the wrong load. I just assumed I had the right load because they even asked if I was going to FT. Worth and I said yep. The load they gave me though goes to Arlington, TX. Now instead of delivering Saturday morning I'm delivery Monday morning. So I'm sitting here at a Flying J in Dallas, TX until then.
Note to self: look at the consignee on the bills before you leave and make sure it matches your work assignment!Kutina Thanks this. -
Where are you delivering? -
-
It isn't that I am going in the wrong direction the load I was supposed to pick up delivered Saturday morning. The load they gave me delivers Monday morning. So now I'm sitting for two days essentially. That's what I'm not happy about.
-
Where's that load going? I don't remember getting a Batesville load that normally delivers in Arlington... Is it a Tyson shuttle or McLane or something?
EDIT: Sorry, I missed your previous post with the destinations. -
Both loads were going to the DFW area. The load I was supposed to get was going to Chicken E. The load they gave me in error goes to McLane's.
-
Ahh gotcha. That McLane location actually allows early deliveries, but I dunno if you want to bother with it since you likely wouldn't get another assignment until Monday anyways.
But at least you'll get the minimum mileage pay -
That isn't what I'm not happy about. I'm stuck in Dallas with 90 plus temps for 2 days. The APU doesn't last that long so I have to idle the truck to recharge batteries. All I can say it's a good thing my PFP bonus doesn't start to count until October.
