hate to say it but my grays are winning. I knew male pattern baldness was to come but no one warned me about the proliferation of ear and nose hair when ya get to the top of the hill. Aint that a kick in the bald spot.

Maybe you misunderstood, but I refused to be slamming on the brakes. That's what got me fired from Swift: they wanted me on the brakes creating following distance *right now* when I got cut off, and I believed in a more gradual approach

Trucks don't drive unsafe. People do.

That's right. Those auto-braking systems never put on the brakes all by themselves when it sees a shadow or a wall in a curve or, or, or. Nope. THAT never happens. /sarcasm

When that happens does it hit them hard? I have never driven a truck with that before but I haven't heard good things.

Oxbow, starmac and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

On the roads you travel, it isn't a big deal, particularly if you anticipate it.

When the roads are icy?? Yeah, that can make for some pucker-factor issues. It still isn't like "throwing-you-through-the-windshield" hard, but it will get your attention in a big way.

Any time you try to save on human capital by making the job suitable for a less competent operator, you are making a mistake.

Truck drivers will go the way of tool and die makers in time. And eventually the few who remain will be able to name their price for a lack of competition.

Automated truck is never gonna do heavy haul or OSOW.. And people who spend a career letting an automated truck drive them arent likely to grow the skillset to do it either.

From what several friends told me, theirs braked so hard that they nearly lost control. And it caused the trucks behind them to panic.

One was caused by the shadow of a tunnel, the other, a large black plastic bag drifting across the road.
