I'm also looking forward to hearing more. Sounds like the "open road" will be a breeze compared to this!

    Keep the faith, man!

I'm enjoying the write up as well.

My orientation and first week with Trans Am has been a breeze, hate you've had so many issues over there.

I'm not going to waste your time on my journal of my 1 1/2 yrs with SNI.
I resigned today after being on vacation this past week, which I requested 3 wks. prior, and haven't got my vacation pay, which I was told would be this week, after vacation ? :biggrin_25524:
SNI is a very "cornfussed operation" more of management, by panic ? :biggrin_25515:
With no ability to create and secure planed movements for your next dispatch, till there's a problem.
Empty trailer management is what sets you up to fail, when you can't secure an empty trailer for your next pickup, when that consignee doesn't have or won't release one to get your next pickup on time.
Here's where your time is lost, communicating the situation, and wait for the new plan operations has to come up with.
There's no "heads up "communication from planners, customer service to shippers or consignees, when it's critical for an empty to be released with following up with another empty trailer or inbound load at a later time?
I've given back more to SNI then what they started out giving me in dispatches to generate my revenue.
I made 3 out of the possible 5 bonus quarters during my time. :biggrin_2558:
There were 4 "setup dispatched" moves to my truck, my team leader, had set up for me, that would take place toward the weekend, or after her shift was done & she had gone for the day ?
When 2nd shift took over the running of the operation, each of those moves, were taken away from me, followed by a message of "that load isn't not going to be ready when you get there". :biggrin_25524:
That's strange 2 of those assignments were "live loads" ?:biggrin_25513:
There were no replacement loads to run, just "contact your team leader in the morning".
I'm of the opinion Schneider is moving to be like a Land Star carrier of all O/O for all the increase of drivers I've seen.
They & teams are seeing all the freight, that doesn't run by rail, they leave you in a regional lane to run short haul freight, for which your OTR. :biggrin_2556:
There were situations in regional that had some sort of problem or situation that prevented you from making delivery that day, and force a "rest period" on you which prevented you from receiving your next assignment, which would keep you roll'n. :biggrin_25513:
Came off a 34 in Atlanta last year, and for the 1st day a total of 126 mile, making local monday deliveries for someone who didn't come to work that day.
There were never any bonus or reward with a "high miler run" for doing them the favor they asked of you to save a delivery or load pickup. :biggrin_25513:
I could go on about my experiences at SNI, I'm not, I'm on to a new position next week, I'm Blessed to still be here with good health, and strength to keep work'n. :biggrin_255:
SNI was not "a fit" for me there's better pay and work for "newbe's" and drivers with experience, then having to deal with SNI. :biggrin_25525:
Blessed & Happy Easter to All & Their Families That Read This Thread :biggrin_255:

Following removal of my duties as yard driver,i was informed i would have to attend orientation, again!
I told myself, there was no way in hell i was going through that again. No way,no how, nope!!
Well being unemployed looked even worse,so i started packing, for yet another drive to charlotte n.c.At
least this time around i kinda knew what to expect.I arrived at the motel, and checked in.Luckily schneider
had changed up to a better motel across the street from the last one i stayed in.This one didnt have security
guards, but the hallways did smell of someone smoking the sticky-icky.My room mate was a young guy,and we got
along pretty well, except when he played the i-pod wide open.
Orientation, was as i remembered it from 9 months earlier.wooo..They had slacked up a little on the militant
schooling, and it was not as bad as the first time around. They started using a driving range up the street,
and that was a pretty busy spot with all the different instructors, and students on the range at once.
I also had a birthday while up there,my roommate, and another guy took me to dave and busters. That was
cool,as i had never been before.Went through the week, and tested out, again with schneider.I loaded up
some more schneider classroom memoriabilia into the car and drove home to wait for a trainer.

I was assigned a trainer the following week, that was coming out of florida. We agreed to meet.....
Yep,charlotte n.c.I loove driving my car to charlotte n.c.!!
Schneider put me up in the sticky-icky motel, and i kept in touch with my trainer coming from fla.We were gonna meet up at the oc the following day.
The following day,he called, and informed me he was held up,and wouldnt be in til the next day.Sooo i got to
hang out another day.The following morning,we met up at the fuel island at the oc.He seemed like a nice enough guy.Older fella that had been with sni for 17 yrs.
We had a load taking us through w.v.and some mtns,so i was looking forward to that.Ive never been out of the southeast, and we ran all the way to ny,and up and down the east coast.I got to see more roadkill, than i ever thought existed.I counted 6 dead deer in one mile in pa.Ihings you never think about, lol!

I saw the great lakes, and came close to niagra falls, but didnt get to see it.We delivered in detroit, and what a nasty spot that was.I didnt leave anything up north!
I dont wanna bore you guys with all the details with my trainer.I guess it could of gone worse. He had a habit of whistleing for no reason through his teeth, that and reading every!single sign! For miles! At first,i thought i could get used to these quirks, but that wasnt to be.It just eventually made me wanna feed him my pillow when he went to sleep at night.I could never team, and dont know how guys do it?
I will write more later.I hope everyone hada good Easter Sunday.

I honestly don't know. Some folk probably would have bailed alot sooner than I did.
I was trying my best to get some experience under my belt.
Boy did I get experience :biggrin_25523:
