go back, but I value my family time.I plan on getting back in a truck, but wanna do it where I have a little more control this time around.Jackofalltrades1977 and AfterShock Thank this. -
The following week,i was scheduled in Atlanta for SQT testing, and finally get a truck. There were quite a few new drivers there.I did the song and dance, driving, coupling, and testing.
Most of the drivers were given trucks, and theyre new dbl's phone number, and were cut loose to go make the magic happen.
A few others were given the keys to shiney abused automatics, that requires a little more class time, and then your on your way.
My truck was waiting in braselton, where I would be running out of on the Home Depot account.I got back there a little after lunch, and went inside to get my keys.
Man,was I excited! Finally gonna get to it!My truck was the only one left available, and I really hoped it would at least be decent.
Que the Price Is Right wah,wah,waaaaa...music
Im not so green that I don't know new guys don't get new trucks, but ####!I opened the door to this mobile out-house,and seriously thought I was gonna puke! The inside was loaded with trash, and the seats looked like someone had a few close calls,if ya know what I mean.Nasty mattress, and a
bottle of secret brown liquid. The smell was a 50/50 sweet air freshner smell/
mixed in with a porto potty that hadnt had the blue water changed in several months.
I immediately went back inside, and relayed my disgust to the proper schneider authorities. One,actually walked outside, and took the mystery liquid out of the cab.Another one gave me some Lysol, and some wipes, which I was glad to get, along with some trash bags.
Things they don't tell you when your making deals to go drive here.I guess you cant cover everything, and this is a good one to leave out of the conversation before coming to work here.THEY DO NOT CLEAN IN ANY WAY RETURNED TRUCKS GOING TO NEW DRIVERS.Thats new rookies job.
I guess some guys do refuse to take these trucks, but your probably gonna get labeled as a difficult driver.
I never could get the smell out of this 06" Fartliner Cascadia.I found out some months later, that my truck was known as the "dookie truck".
Seems some other guys had actually refused it.One guy told me he was so p/o about having to spend the night in it,he stood outside with doors and windows open til time to go to bed.You could smell this baby doll a mile away.
This really made me feel stupid later, cause I took the dookie truck, and was kind of a joke to the other guys, and didnt know it at the time.
I wanna say thanks to you guys/gals reading this, and please overlook my lack of writing skill.I will post more tomorrow. Was a long day at the new job today.Ya'll stay safe.AfterShock and Ex-Con-Trucker Thank this. -
Are you kidding? You could easily write a novel and get paid for it. I am enjoying your story as much as the "Werner Trainer Craps on himself" story. THANK YOU FOR WRITING IT!OPUS 7 and AfterShock Thank this. -
Yes this thread will be around for a while i am sure!

Man, epic. I had a "nightmare" about being forced to drive SNI COEs the night before those tornadoes hit in Dallas. Didn't know it was Schneider that was hit until I searched on Youtube... Very interestink.
My orientation and training with May sound like a cakewalk in comparison! -
OPUS 7 Thanks this.

Coffee Grounds will get the smell out as long as you get a new mattress and clean the interior real good-
It also works on trls that have had some fowl smelling product in it.OPUS 7 and Jackofalltrades1977 Thank this. -
