Was it a grocery load? Lumpers etc?

 

thanks for all the up date. on swift pay the form they gave me it said 26 cents a mile plus the sliding scale rate of 16 then of course more miles you go the less it got to 6. is this true? looking on making my choice at the middle of oct what company i want to go to. thanks for the help

 

450 a week for training is...bad wages? Chripes, I been working for worse than that my whole life ^.^

I think my BEST averages out to 380 a week

Hope ya'll don't mind but I am going to jump in here for a second. I went to Swifts website and it is fancy and all and they seem like a good company. I was just curious why there are a lot of bad things on here written about Swift? I have read of the more positive stuff as well on here and it seems like Swift has the miles to keep you rolling.

Can't figure out why so many people are bashing them so hard?

I have been doing a lot of research here lately and I think I may just go to the local technical school and take the 10 week class they offer. Does anyone know if Swift hires tech school graduates and if so do they make them still go through some kind of training? If so, do they make you pay for the training even though you have your CDL coming in? What kind of weekly check do you average as a newbie?

Not the big checks you were talking about wanting in another thread fo sho. As said here, about 450 a week training, then .25 a mile starting out. Why do they get so much flack? Simple mathmatics.

Most trucks on road = Most trucks seen = most problems seen

As for the rest, ask a recruiter perhaps?

Hey man, it seems this thread here, is becoming your attempt to get the information that you could not get bragging in your other one, but alright, I'll bite:

Swift is the largest trucking company in the USA right now. over 17k trucks, yeah, I would say they are 'stable' and I dont care how experianced you are, your not gunna see the paychecks you want for a nice long time especially sense you are wanting in the realm of 20-30k more than you already make, assuming you make better than a regular joes 25k a year or even a teachers 42k (After 10 years and no masters 30k to start unless your in detroit/similar then its 35) your wanting to make about 70-100k a year to reach that 20-30k more than the obviously (By your bragging in another thread) you make now.

As a company driver, the best I have heard of (And there may be better out there) is .42c a mile assuming your desired pay of call it 80k, is not take home but pre tax:

521.85 miles a day. Every day. No Resets, No home time, no break downs.

average of 52.185 MPH, for your 10 hours, every day, all day, no stopping for fuel, pee, or anything else.

So, sure, I guess its possible. And when you achive it (As you say you will) I would love to see it and be the first to say grats.

Yes, They are stable, No, the noob pay aint great, but for most, 40k is a good start. THe questions you are asking, are awnsered repeatedly in some of the most active threads on here, some of them even in this very thread! (Like starting pay)
