Tmc would get you a rental if you wanted. Or is that what you're doing?

Kinda. I'm getting a rental car and getting reimbursed the price of a bus ticket.

Thanks for taking the time to post all this info about TMC. In trucking school TMC and Averitt were my choices and I decided to go with Averitt, only because the opportunity to possibly move up to a day job in the future. After I made my decision I talked to my recruiter (Todd) he wished me the best of luck and if things didn't work out to give him a call. I'm new to trucking and have a lot to learn, so its untelling where I'll end up. Also, I'd like to thank those who were military for your service and sacrifice.

Far as I can tell, in otr, its really what you make of it as far as a day or night job. If you can start your day as early as possible then you'll be done before dark unless it's fall our winter. I'm going to attempt to make my days start at 5am so I can be shut down by 7pm. Course that it's dependant on a whole host of issues that are out of my control. And highly dependant on how far away from the consignee that I am

Tonight starts my 5th week of training, and hopefully my final. Our load of insulation is due at the consignee by 11am tomorrow morning, we are leaving by 4am from Columbus. Im told they plan to keep us in the midwest this week and possibly have me dropped off in Des Moines on Friday morning. If need be I will go with that, however I would much rather go home for the weekend seeing how assuming I testout on Monday it could be 2 weeks before I get home. But it is what it is, if need be, ill stay in Des Moines.

Well I stayed in the last-night, I didn't want my wife having to get up super early and have to deal with a lack of sleep during her work day. We left Columbus at 4am and got in at Morton Illinois at 11am cst. We unloaded without issue and waited for 15 minutes for a load of concrete products going from Kankakee Illinois to Tampa Florida that's due in on Wednesday afternoon.

Thanks for the thread, been interesting and informative. I will also be starting with TMC on Aug 25th. Fresh out of school, just passed my state exam today. Hopefully will see you sometime in the near future!
