Trying to decide whether I am going to get the TMC inverter and install a small fridge or just go with what I got for the time being and get an ac powered cooler and use that, then go over to the fridge later on. Since my truck is a 2012 with 230k miles, ill be in it for awhile.

I used that Coleman 12v cooler. Wasn't bad until the fan went out after about a year. I think a fridge would be much better though. With an inverter you could have a microwave as well. Had a buddy who was going to make a mount for the top bunk and use that. Saves money on the road, that's for sure.

Thats what im thinking, Id like to eat on the truck and stay away from TS food. Right now ive got a regular cooler with ice, have some turkey slices and cheese with some bananas cereal and a half gallon of milk. keep ice in it and it stays nice and cold. But that will get old quick. Id like to get the inverter so I have a microwave. Would definitely save cash in the long run. I found a small 700 watt microwave at walmart for $49, Im not getting a television since I have my laptop. Dont watch TV, so its no big deal. Any movies I watch i just pirate the dog #### out of them when im at home. If im not on here reading and posting im on facebook talking with my friends or my kids.

What size is the inverter that TMC sells? Im sure I can get it cheaper off amazon and just get the same inverter.

I think it's either 1400 or 1500 cobra? I think that is all they'll let you hardwire, but if it's not hard wired you need to hide it for services and such. That's an awesome deal for a microwave. Stay away from buying the truck stop crap haha. I do the laptop and hard drive thing as well. I have like 3TB of movies and tv shows, so I think I can keep myself busy. Most of the time I'll eat and fall asleep right after anyway. We will see if I've changed any over the year haha. I think if you hardwire it at tmc it's like $150 for everything?
