The test at the end of training is a simple drive test. it consisted of 4 right hand turns, 4 left hand turns and then a 45degree angle back. overall was pretty easy.
As far as your other question. I havent a clue on dedicated fleet. Ive checked into them, but never had any real interest. -
I have a religious sleeve tattoo will I be sent home for this? They didn't make you climb the trailer walk under the trailer or climb a load then climb down?? Lol was reading on another website that they do don't know if it's true or not lol
-
the tarp test requires you to life the tarp, carry it to the trailer, climb up on the trailer, then left the same tarp up onto a coil then move around the other side, take it down, carry it to the end of the trailer, then get down off the trailer without jumping off. Jumping off a trailer during orientation will get you sent home ASAP. Jumping off a trailer after will probably get you a serious safety violation, possibly fired.
For tattoos, as long as its not offensive they wont have issues.Battle Born, petey387 and Drac1985 Thank this. -
He's right with the tattoo thing, and the tarp test is long before you will do any road testing or anything. Most steel places and such require long sleeve shirts anyway, so just keep it non offensive and you're good. I think face tattoos and such are maybe frowned upon as well seeing how they don't want piercings and such I believe.

Lol ya no face tattoos or piercings here. When they say work boots can I wear my "cowboy" boots here in Texas we don't like laces to much. Any word on what the tx account they have posted is all about ?

You basically run our Texas accounts delivering in Texas and sometimes Oklahoma I believe. Sheet rock, steel, shingles, that sort of stuff. Home every weekend, and depending on where you live, sometimes during the week you get a night or two at home. That's Texas dedicated. You still make percentage and such I believe. It's been a while since I educated myself on it.
petey387 Thanks this. -
K well im home for the weekend. A decently long one. Picked up a load of steel bars Gerdau MaxSteel in Monroe Michigan. Its due in at a plant in Winchester Ky on tuesday morning. I leaving home monday evening around 3pm. Its roughly a 5 hour ride for me down there. This allows me to get my reset my clock before the load is due in and not start it until im unloaded. Assuming there is a place to park close. Plus it will help with getting on the load board sooner. Should help in me getting a decently paying load. However I am going to be down around Silvergrove, we have dedicated runs that leave out of a Sheetrock manufacturer down there. Will most likely be my next load that I will get.

If you can get Sheetrock loads goi to Iowa or Minnesota, the pay is real nice for a two day load. With a fresh clock you can almost next day the Iowa ones. There's also Ghent Kentucky, which I personally hate. I've sat there for 10 hours waiting on a load, but I've also had some where I'm in and out like nothing. It's coils and such, so that's that I guess. Both don't pay too bad for the longer ones. I know there's a couple other steel places in Kentucky east of silver grove. Forget the names though.

Kind of hoping ill get a sheetrock load, thats one of those loads i havent pulled yet even with my trainer.
