Both good companies to go to. I do not know Melton's training, but they have good equipment. Only real difference is that they run a 10 speed, and Tmc runs 9 and 13.

I didn't pick Melton because hometime is important to me but I heard good things. They have APUs which is a plus. 13 speed was today took me like 15 minutes before it clicked. I'm sure gunner will go more into it some people were baaaaaad.

That sucks!! I remember Phil and another old guy who had been at TMC forever! Good guys and sure could drive!
I got a call from them again 2 weeks ago asking me to come back. I have thought about it, that's for sure. I could go right back to specialized! Coolest job ever!

I got Dave for my road trainer today, first half of my time he was very critical, which had me more nervous, I told him that at the end of the first half. After our break, he lightened up some and was real talkative about everyday life, it helped me by allowing me to calm down some. By the end, yeah I would grind a few here and there, getting used to the splitter went good. I started getting my downshifting in better. At the end of my road time he told me I had good usage if my mirrors, and my upshifting and down would get better with time. Over all said I was a good driver but needed more time getting used to the rpms and speeds together.

Snowez, who are you? I've sent you pms with out response.

Yeah, i know. I just am not fond of Arkansas US highways with them. I've luckily been able to talk most into putting the, suicide, but SSAB is hard to fix when it's preloaded haha.

This has been some GREAT reading, and AMAZING info! Keep it coming! I'm getting ready to go back to school for some MAJOR refresher training, and after that, I've been looking into TMC....they seem like a really good company, tho I don't know which would be better, the % split or the $$ per mile...more info on that would be nice. I'm down in Jax, FL, so I don't know if this is even one of their hiring areas...well, Tampa area is, so close enough......
    Other choices are Melton and?????
    Regardless.....looking forward to more posts!

You don't have to pick till you finish your 5 week training with your trainer. They let you run a log of percentage vs cpm on every run you guys do together. They say 80% of their fleet runs percentage and they try and push that hard not sure what's better but most people say percentage averages out higher.
