Tmc primarily runs eat of i35,but they have some freight west, in your area you'll see alot of lumber, insulation, paper rolls out of pryor for national gypsum, dry wall from National gypsum. Other than that i haven't any idea what other freight they have out that way, but I'm sure there is plenty

Securement is your number 1 priority! Driving the load is #2. Anything you have loaded on your deck has the possibility to kill you or ones around you. While your out with a trainer you are not going to learn proper securement methods on everything TMC halls. When you come upon a load you don't know how to secure you can ask the shipper, other drivers loading the same product, or call safety prior to loading. You will have at least 13- 4" straps and 8 chains. Use them all if needed. They won't do any good in the head ach rack with your load sitting on the side of the road. Your first securing and tarp jobs will take awhile. Don't become discouraged. You will improve your time as you learn the "tricks of the trade".

Thank you Sailor, I'm not to stressed with time, because I know how awful it looks when you have someone yelling at you when all you are trying to do is make sure its done right. And from what Gunner is saying, safty is the number one priority. I know it will take me a few months to get stuff down, and learn the system. That and I know you guys will be here for questions :) there will always be someone who knows more then me

There is a TMC truck parked on Duval Mine Rd in Green Valley AZ from time to time. I figure he must be an O/O on some sort of dedicated mine thing. He's always hooked to a double drop trailer he used to have a KWT800 #88__ but now has a 579 Pete #100__.

I figured he was an O/O on home time. I couldn't imagine a company driver parked on the side of the road for days at a time. I've checked the TMC website, they don't hire Co. drivers this far west. I just remembered as I'm writing this, Caterpillar:Bulldozer: has a test track right up the road from where he parks.

EDIT: Are the TMC trucks a 6x2 or a 6x4?

not many do like to look of the new 579s that they have, but they have significant comforts over the 388's and 379's. more quiet, better fuel economy, built in television for the driver. easier to manuver.

all their road trucks are 4x6. even their day cabs. of the few 4x2's those are usually yard jockies and a select few day cabs that are in the north east.
