I haven't, but doesn't increase. I don't know of many hazmat loads we pull. Just having hazmat though is bonus points on your certification level, which goes towards your percentage of pay.

Da Beast Thanks this.

Tmc does haul a few hazmat loads, but very few and mostly empty hazmat containers, or paint totes

Anyone running out of Texas here? Im curious to see how weekly hometime would workout as far as runs... I see the trucks around town frequently. One more week til orientation.

They have several dedicated runs in texas only. Those drivers tend to go home weekly, and sometimes once or twice during the week.

Thank you for the very informative and honest thread Gunner and the others who have contributed! I've learned a lot, not only about TMC, but, hauling flat beds, driving trucks and the business in general.
I have a question that I hope you or someone might be able to answer. I'm 25 and in early March I will be off to earn my CDL at a tech school in Appleton, Wisconsin. For the past six years I have lived with and cared for my elderly grandmother who has a host of health issues, and in that time I have had to quit a couple jobs and was terminated from one because of the constant and and seemingly never ending care that she has needed due to her health problems. Due to this my resume is far from what it should be for a person my age. There has never been an issue with my attitude, maturity or work ethic, but, obviously one would assume otherwise by taking a look at my work history.
I apologize for the short novel of shorts that my comment is, though I feel like explaining my situation was necessary. Anyways, I've researched a lot of different companies and TMC continues to be at the top of my list due to a lot of different factors. My question is, would they even touch me with a ten foot pole?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank youLast edited: Dec 27, 2015

No, unfortunately she took a bad spill here at home in July and broke her femur. After getting out of the hospital they had her moved into a nursing home

I just called to check on my TMC application and they said they decided to go with another applicant without any reason. How am I to figure out what's wrong? Getting kinda of nervous. I thought it was a driver shortage. These companies act like they are doing you a favor hiring you.
What gives? -
I just applied last week and my app for tmc dcl program and employment was accepted no problems
