It is an accredited school. PTDI. It's definitely one that companies hire from. Trust me I did the research it's the best. Not that there are hundreds of schools in the area either.
If its anything that might be it, no big deal, there are other far better companies to go with. PGT trucking, Melton, Boyd, or even Maverick.
all of those companies run east of I35 and all will hire out of MD. PGT has their main office outside pittsburgh with a strong presence all over that area.
It's interesting to see some peoples responses to not being hired by a company. Driver shortage or not, some companies get a decent amount of applicants where they can pick and choose who they hire. I work for a company like this and have seen similar posts on their pages. I do not work for TMC. I have seen people not be hired because they live in a bad area and while some may say this isn't fair, why should a company hire individual A who they will have trouble getting home, when they have individual B who live right on one of their freight lanes. (an example from my current company) I wouldn't take it personally unless they say there was an issue with your application
I chose TMC based, quite a bit, on the great comments you had about the company while you were there and after leaving. While I am not unhappy with that decision thus far, I am in Canonsburg, PA and the PGT terminal up by Monaca would have been pretty convenient. lol
I said in previous posts that TMC is a decent starting company, and even if one stays there are plenty of times when you can make good money. However when they started hounding me saying that the only way to make more money is to become a trainer did it for me. I was number 4 on my dispatchers board and the only ones over me were trainers. Im not comfortable with training at my level of exp. I did attempt at going back with them when my lease went to hell. They said I didnt qualify based on my accident in 2013, and the scam I was sucked into in sept 2014. Thats fine, PGT welcomed me back, but I settled on Builders because I see a potential to make more money with a significantly smaller company.
Quick question Gunner75 I'm separated from my wife can I ride my girlfriend with me after I been driving for a while at TMC?
We just had this discussion yesterday in fact. The general answer is no, you cannot. That said they do make exceptions on a case by case basis. Do not count on it and if that is something you feel you have to be able to do I working for the company then I would consider elsewhere. If you do not mind the good possibility of a no answer than you are fine. Hope that helps.
