I never liked parking at the end of a row with trucks coming round, that wasn't a good place to be... but even in the middle of a row of parking spaces, some (generally newer) drivers forget where their wagon sliders are positioned and the trailer swing manages to clip some other rig. I learned about trailer swing early on when I barely clipped some other hand's mirror as I eased out of a fairly tight slot in the Northeast... luckily, there was no damage, and the guy was cool about it, my trailer just bumped the mirror at very low speed. Still, it was a wake-up call, and drivers just starting out should be aware of trailer swing .![]()
P.S. Hey, OP, I think they like your truck, lol...![]()
My trailer has been hit 4 times in 2 years, WTH

You should see what happens to trailers in auto manufacturing plants. When it’s dark and there MIGHT be a foot of room on each side, trailers get hit.
I park across from the Love’s and not IN the Love’s, for a reason. I’ve lost two hoods, in my career.
If one is ordering a new trailer, spec upper and lower rub rails. They’ll save the skin. This is the best setup I’ve ever seen. Though, I’d do a full-length upper rail, too. And, these guys haul car parts.
kylefitzy, bzinger, Ffx95 and 1 other person Thank this. -
yes.. apply them all the way along the side of the trailer at the top, makes very good sense.Vampire Thanks this. -

I think an aluminum T chanel would be better.
They damage their own trailer, and not yoursducnut Thanks this. -

The 53 foot spread axle flatbeds that some companies have like Melton have more tail swing and I seen a flatbed hit another truck parked next to it in a truck stop. BEWARE when parking next to these.
ducnut Thanks this.
