We haven't pulled any reefer yet, he is one of only a few trainers that actually train reefer. We will probably be picking up reefer Friday because we are delivering back to California. We're headed there with a load now, we have hauledsome high security loads so I'm not sure what's in there and we have also hauled electronics. We are under a fedex load now headed back to Cali, we also hauled one that was just like shipping boxes. It's been a good variation. He believes we will pick up a reefer load for Walmart once we get to Cali.

Alrighty everyone, I apologize about such a big delay in posting. This is the first time I've had Internet and enough down time to post so I will just post as much as possible from here on out. Going back to the last post, we have hauled reefer loads, high security loads and freight of all kinds, just not any hazmat at this point. It's been one hell of an experience I say that all the time but it's been awesome. I couldn't be pleased enough with my trainer, he has taught us a lot and continues to teach us. We have only had a few mix ups with dispatchers but they were handled quickly and professionally. We are staying at the terminal tonight for an early morning delivery so going to catch up on rest. Also if anyone has anymore questions please feel free to ask away. No question is a dumb question as I was tought, if you dodon't want to post it then just shoot me a private message on here and I will get back with you as soon as possible. Have a blessed night everyone and safe travels!

All they have you do for your initial road test on Monday is drive forward with a few turns. The backing test doesn't happen until after your 260 hours on a trainer truck. The DOT says that companies do not have to give road tests to people being hired but it can be done by company choice to see where you stand to a certain extent. Covenant is one of those companies that likes to learn as much about a person as possible which is awesome. You feel more a part of the team when they do it the way in my personal opinion. The initial road test is the same for experienced as well as recent grads except the experienced drivers get graded on their shifting as where students do not. Don't sweat the road test, it's fairly easy. As long as you don't crash, hit the ONE curb that's on the test and show that you can control the vehicle you're good. They tell you step by step how to make the turn that is the most difficult and guide you through it. The whole road test for each driver is about 10 - 12 minutes. Fairly short. Hopefully that helped and good luck with the new endeavor. If you have any more questions feel free to ask, biggest thing is be honest about everything. Don't get kicked out of orientation for something like that.

I should have kept reading before trying to post my question as you answered it later on.

Alright everyone, I've been on hometime for a couple days for a doctors appointment that I had and we had to get the truck put in the shop for routine services and a thorough inspection. It sure has been an awesome experience that I wouldn't change for the world. There isn't much more to add to what's been posted but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not going to be posting for a couple more days due to me being off the road. Also I'm a little more than half way done with my training here at Covenant which has flown by! I will start another thread after the training so you can follow me there. Have a blessed holiday everyone and safe travels! Please feel free to ask questions if you have any!

What was your question? Just out of curiosity.

Keep building off the same thread. Otherwise it just looks messy with a bunch of threads all over the place. Good to hear from you though

It was about having 3 people on the truck with 2 in training. Legally I don't see how that is possible and I was wondering about the sleeping arraignments and if it was the norm for Covenant to train 2 at a time. I have an app in with them and if it's the norm I'm liable to pull the app when I get to school on Tuesday. I'm going to Roadmaster here in Tulsa.
