Going back to an earlier post, Wegman's is a prime example of a supermarket that does things right. They don't even try to match Wal Mart's prices, but what they do instead is provide EXCELLANT service. They're actually rated number one by consumer reoprts, as far as supermarkets is concerned. They concentrate more on quality and providing excellant customer service, rather than being the cheapest. They're inhouse deli is far superior than any other supermarket chain. And they actually pay their employees a decent salary. Non union Wegman drivers get paid about $29 an hour, (top rate that is), and get a .50 cent raise every 6 months. But they're really finicky about who they want driving for them.

Wegmans is finestkind. Always good to find one if I'm traveling and need something. I'd work for 'em.

As far as grocery companies to work for, I would put them at the top of the list. They have drivers making well over $100k. Union that is. -

I took a virtual visit to my old milk outfit and was shocked to see they are all sleeper long haul tanks now. Hardly any local farms unless the day time trucks were out the day that google car took a picture.Mike2633 Thanks this.
