Technically it was the air dryer that broke and stuck stuck open. I bought a fitting to bypass it, connecting the 2 lines. It will get me home and I’ll replace it then.

Similar to our old day ways in loading FL fruit to Red Owl at Waterloo.
Bunker and blower reefers. 2 gallon gas can for the putt putt engine. IH gas burner, Esso #5 oil, thick/sluggish.
When they were up past landing gear unloading, take the 5 gallon trash bucket you carried with the brick in it.
Soak the brick with gas, set in front. light the brick, flame stabilize, slide it under the pan. Time it burned out,
    engine would spin.

Yeah but that was when trucks were not made of plastic.
I've used that method many times but not for at least 30 years

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.

I feel blessed for that good winter fuel up here. I've seen it hit -40 and the fuel was just starting to barely gel up.

That was the best part of running up to Calgary and Edmonton. Get fuel up north and you had nothing to worry about. My old boss would fill the tank at the yard with Canadian fuel every winter too. Fuel mileage wasn’t the best with it but the trucks kept running.

Might add another 5 minutes to the day because of the reduced power but its better than losing half a day because you gelled up.

cke, Rideandrepair and beastr123 Thank this.
