First, I am very sorry to hear about your son.

I think that you should be very proud of yourself. My opinion is that people.crash and burn in this business because of starting with not enough money in reserve, bad decisions, and starting with too much overhead.

You have done what few people in this business ever do. You are starting your business with paid off equipment, paid off insurance, years of planning this, and knowledge of this industry.

You also have a feather in your cap that you started a business from the ground up and apparently sold it for a significant amount of money. You obviously have good business skills.

It also sounds like you and your wife are exactly on the same page. I see all green lights for you, and I hope you enjoy the ride.

God bless, and good luck :)

Sorry about your son. Best of luck with your new endeavors. I'll be following your thread closely as I am in a very similar situation. I take from your post that you are brand new to this industry as am I. May I ask what they got you for on your first years insurance?

Welcome to the forum - bergy

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your son and you are in my prayers!!

I would wish you luck but you don't seem to be the kind of person that waits on luck. You've got the business experience and knowledge to make this or any other venture work...based on what you've said. I look forward to keeping up with you and your adventure and hope you continue to share with us.

    Blessings!!!

I wish it was over the older I get the more and more I can't stand the cold. It was a good day here on our end working on getting our new office set up phone lines in and computer system up and running. That is part of the good thing from our previous business I was everything from the IT guy when the computer did not work I was the one called the power went down, when there was a problem on some ones check you name it I was that guy. When you first start a business you may not know a lot but after years of doing it sometimes you learn the hard way and you figure out ways to make thing happen.

I also paid paid cash for a new evolution and wait for it to arrive.
How much was the trailer? Around 45 for 2012?
i am not able to get any insurance, because in NY all companies require 1 year of experience. And I have 7 month. Progressive has 500 miles radius of operation. Do you have this limit?
    good luck!
