Otaaaaay LMMFAO. How many jobs in trucking have you had in your life?
One?
I know people who have been on welfare for years, they swear it's better than working. But, I truly believe that being able to buy WHAT I want WHEN I want is better.
Anybody interested in AZ swamp land?

There are two sides to every story. For one thing, anyone who sits 10 days waiting for a truck to be fixed is not wanting to work. On day 4 the people in the office would have been getting to know my face real well. Days 5,6,7,8 and 9 I would have been insisting on a different truck from them or Omaha. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Pun intended.

The guy is basically just out of school for all intents. -
I personally feel that all dispatchers should do three weeks on the road with a driver before going on the job and I think it should be followed up with a stint on the road every two years, just so they see what the drivers go through. I saw what my boyfriend deals with when I went with him this summer. Although, even as single driver, he got lots of miles. Now, he's running team with his brother, but I don't see this lasting long. His brother just doesn't like OTR and just needs money right now. I think Edward will be on his own again soon.

Dispatchers vary, mine was a prick at first but I've broken him in nicely.

I have a couple of questions that I'd like to have answered. I am not actively driving yet, but I do know that everyone encounters people who don't do their jobs and don't help the driver do what he is being paid to do. Those people need to be reminded that the customer is responsible for their way of life, they pay the bills. But,if you have a POS truck, why do you even take it out on the road? It is your responsibility to make sure your equipment is safe for both you and the public. Why would anyone knowingly drive an unsafe vehicle? When your dispatcher or who ever gave you a load, knew about mechanical problems and didn't get you the help you needed, why didn't you go to his/her supervisor? Why didn't you contact your driver advocate? Call the safety department. Why didn't you shut the thing off and refuse to go any further? When you are dispatched and the load can't be picked up for several hours and you can't make the delivery on time, what did you do? Did you send a qualcom msge so that it's documented? Did you contact anyone or did you just whine? Sometimes when a driver goes the "extra mile" and makes a few phone calls or talks to the shipper things change. I realize it's frustrating trying to do a job when you have no co-operation. Use the qualcom, document things, call people. Just whining isn't going to change anything. Regarding the way your planner or whatever they are called at Werner talks to you... How do you interact with that person? Do you talk to them with respect and professionalism? Think about it and if you do, the next time you talk or qualcom ask them to treat you with respect and professionalism. After all, you both have the same goal. Taking care of the customer. When you talk to other Werner employees and customers, remember one thing before you speak. Don't say anything or act in a fashion that wouldn't make your mother proud.

You can respectfully refuse to move anytime you want.
In a few months, your own mother will disown you. For failing to pay your bills.
Rules of dispatching.
Rule #1 There will always be ###holes.
Rule #2 Make sure you're a bigger ###hole.
Rules of company shops.
Only one.....slow the driver down, for as long as you can.
