Thank you sir for one taking the time to read my looooooong post. I am not sure of that honey moon phase part though. I guess I'm just a different breed of person. I guess you can call me a glutton for punishment. But I've learned to appreciate and learn from every experience. Case in point if that were to happen again I wouldn't ask, as soon as I get the message I would just turn around. Lesson learned. I've noticed that regardless of what trucking company or any job for that matter there will be things and people that I don't agree with. But why bash and complain? It fixes nothing. One man's trash is another's treasure. So I just put every experience good and bad and allow others to make their own decision.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to post your story. I was just saying we all see new adventures threw rose color glasses and that takes a few months to wear off I do the same thing myself. I read your post because I was considering this company myself. Thanks to you I will scratch this one off the list. The things that happen to you says a lot to me about a companies general attitude towards drivers. Again thanks for your help.
amiller Thanks this. -
im starting at western this monday will be orientation ...cross my fingures ita a better trucking company
-
do they pay for orientation? how much do they pay when your with a trainer?
-
realfasho is probably at a cat scale right now doing his 30min break lol jk....did you ask your recruiter these questions?
-
Lol. Amiller you got jokes huh? But to answer your question silverdollarman I don't think you get paid for orientation. When your out with a trainer it's $375 but for the first three weeks they take $200 of it. So you'll get $175 for three weeks then your last check will be $375.
amiller Thanks this. -
I totally understand where you're coming from. But reading the threads all over this site I don't think many companies care about their drivers EXCEPT the little mom and pop companies. I just make the best out of the hand that is dealt. I will say this though, don't let my experience cause you not to go. Because you could get here and have the time of your life. I only started this post because when I was looking to start driving in FEB, there were very few positive things said about any company. I guess it's because human nature is to complain about what we don't like but keep quiet when something is good. But again I feel you I just love being on the road and I wanted to give other new drivers that are fresh out of school the real deal good or bad. Be safe and I hope to see you on our 30 min break.

My husband will be at orientation on Monday. He was told that he won't be paid for orientation. But luckily he's been a driver before so he won't have to have a trainer.
