At the moment I am stuck in a hotel in Easton, PA. My truck has an electrical short somewhere so the shop had to send it to the dealer. My trainee and I are doing nothing except watching football.

I commend you on your getting clean and still standing thru all of your adversity. It does my heart well to hear you talk about who it is that is the source of your happiness. I've come to learn that if you depend on man to make you happy you'll be disappointed every time. Like I continue to say in every post, Western like any other company has their issues but if you do your job and do it well you will be pleased with yourself and to me that's my main goal. Understanding that there are places where freight is slow and that, contrary to popular belief, the loads assignments don't come from your driver manager then you will be alright.
Dark_Majesty_06 Thanks this. -

Hey Realfasho...you are so correct about people ONLY posting when they are complaining. It's refreshing and more helpful to read positive AS WELL as negative posts regarding a particular company. I've had my CDL for about 10 yrs...I've never driven OTR. My situation may require me to start running long haul. I just found out that Western Express offers a free "refresher course" for those of us who have not been driving regularly. Although I have been driving, I have not been backing up, which is half the battle. I've been driving bottom dumps without backing up. Do you know if W.E. has a hiring terminal in the So Calif area? Any and all help would be appreciated.

cant help on the hiring area in CA, t i can tell you backing/turning wiht a spread will throw you for a loop.

SoCalDude WSXI does have a terminal out west. It is in Fontana. I don't know how far that is from you but I know for a fact that we have trucks trailers and loads out there. That's why they don't have us east coast guys running out that way very often. I'm one of the lucky few who was able to get out there with my trainer. I've also had a load going out there as a solo driver but they had me drop it at the rail yard. Bummer. Lol

oh yah realfasho i recall that yard, LOSUY setup esp wiht a flat and spreads
