Funny, but every post I have read about CRE is worded almost identical to yours. The next stage is usually, sure wish I would have listened or the poster ends up in the witness protection program and gets a new identity because you never hear from them again.. Key words are it is what you make of it or I am a hard worker and it will be different for me..:biggrin_25524:

Many of the one's here giving advice started when there was actually a driver shortage , not a growing surplus of applicants like there is now .
Thousands more jobs lost every month , thousands more wannabes turned out by CDL mills every month . Just a little common sense says some wannabes will never get behind the wheel . 5,000 smiling , faithful , wannabes with good attitudes apply for 100 available jobs . So much for the "It is what you make it " theory . Well , to a degree . Naive newbies exploited by CDL mills created the huge surplus of applicants that allows trainer companies to cut starting pay and terminate drivers on a whim . It is what they made it .

Maybe that's because she's working for, and being trained by, an actual O/O, and not a L/O, who is only "training" to help pay for his truck and use your log book. She's not had to put up with the junk that you will get at a big company as far as I can tell. That fact alone would be a major factor as to why she has a positive attitude and prospective.

That should be a lesson in itself.

I don't understand why you same, so called professional truck drivers do nothing other than run down people and companies. Are you feeling threatened? I've already had a very good career and showed a lot of new guys the ropes without running anyone down. I'm now ready to try something different. So what if i fail. At least i tried despite what any of you say. Please, get a life other than this website. You don't impress anyone!!!

There is something you are missing about trucking. This is not a "typical career." There are too many factors involved with too many variances involved. Pick the wrong co and you can go broke in a heart beat. Your dac can be damaged. The few grand you shucked out for school will never get you a job. Some places like CRE prey on new drivers. You have to understand how this industry works. Problem is depending on how you learn will depend on if you survive or not.

There are a few drivers that will come out of the gate bad mouthing every one and everything, but not most. People come asking for advice, and when given, they get defensive because they made up their mind before ever posting.

Everyone has to start somewhere, and there are not enough jobs at good companies. This means going to a not so stellar place to get a foot in the door. Among these not so stellar places are some that are the worst of the worst. They will put almost anyone in a truck, wring them out, and leave them out to dry. When told of these companies, or after reading 1000's of post proclaiming stay away, these people get an attitude, saying this will not happen to them because they have a positive attitude and a great work ethic. In reality, this means very little to a company that DOES NOT care about you, but only how much you can be used, and then replaced before raises, benefits, and any more expenses have to be paid to you.

The dispatchers, or whatever your paticular company calls it, mostly would not know how to start a truck, much less know about the realities of life on the road, and how shippers and receivers jerk you around. Trucking is a completely different subculture of life. It can not be explained, it has to be lived to understand whay really goes on, and much of it is not nice. It takes a special personality to adapt to this way of life. This being the way it is, why would a person want to make things worse, and possibly ruin their lives, by going to the wrong company right off the bat, when people are trying to warn them.

Yes, sometimes we get irritated when it seems as if we are talking to thin air, and many times it is obivious that the poster is not cut out for this business. We do the best we can in most cases, but other times.......Well, you can only take so much.

OK then...Go! Do what you want to! If you're honest, Come back and tell us how it works out for you.

More than likely you will be back here in a little while saying..."Why didn't I listen to you guys?" It happens all the time.
The less than honest ones...We never hear from again.

DO NOT SAY, YOU WERE'NT WARNED!!!

We see people like you come and go all the time here....Have fun!

My wife and I are finally going to training for C. R. England
I feel like we need to change the name of this thread to Saving DonnyH......

Donny please do not take it the wrong way that some of us have been around the block and feel the need to help out others make an mistake that we forsee the new guy or new guys making with a company....
Everyone on this page that has tried to give you advise is for real and has been around the block about 20,000 times..... well with no tarps mabey 20,001 times... but we all have advise for the ones who want it and for those that do not want to hear it they will let our words fall on deaf ears and more than likely end up in failure.... not to say that it will always happen but more than NOT !!!!

you will never know our true experience or where we have been , what we have seen...... I can tell you this much what i have seen would blow you away and you would probably walk away from trucking altogether in disgust.....
    for instance........

El Paso TX oct 2009 at the TA truck stop:
A man walks from his truck to the back door of the truck stop and gets stabbed 12 times in his arse and back and falls to the ground just in side the door of the TA.

I could go on and on and on about what i have seen and heard of the way companies treat their drivers and really wild practices of s/r companies but I am afraid I would just be boring you !

Happy trucking DonnyH may god be watching over you in what ever you decide to do.

I wished those people good luck a week ago, and you guys started your attack on me now a week later. I have given thanks to many of you for the good advise that you have given me,which obviously you pay no attention too. I personally will not go to that company, but if someone wants to then so be it. Why knock them at a time when they need support. They have made up their minds based on their own research. I'm still reading and doing my homework. But when the experienced drivers act more like bullies instead of being somewhat helpful then there is something really wrong. One thing i have learned from the bullies here is that misery does love company.
