Thank you for the update! Surviving on $9.50 is going to be difficult for 2 months, but we are paying off as much as we can and finding a good solution for our home. Looking forward to more updates.

Although prepare your finances to go a month without pay. In fact you'll need money for daily food expenses. The school is 3 weeks unpaid. Swift does pay for the school but you do not receive a check during that time. You don't start getting paid until the second week of your mentor program being that it's a week behind. So orientation week after school is the first paid week at min. wage cause it's on duty only time. But if you max out your 14 mostly driving you can do the math. It's enough to make it until you get upgraded. It's usually about $100-$120 a day.TBonze Thanks this. -
How much are you guys making each week for training ? Gross

If they do it hourly like swift did for me your estimate is about right. I grossed 500-600 through training. $9.50/hour driving, $7.50/hour on duty.

Has your trainer been letting you do most of the backing?
If you pull into a truck stop that's not busy ask if you can practice backing and park the truck 3 or 4 times. The repetition is what really made it click for me, my trainer and I could tell you the day the difference was so clear. I was practicing in Arkadelphia one night and everything just clicked for me. Never had any trouble after that.TruckDuo Thanks this. -
