It’s more of a comment .
and each case is different
Depending on the circumstances of the incident , the odds of them committing violent crimes in the future can vary tremendously.
if it’s a guy convicted of shooting someone in a carjacking or armed robbery murder , violently harming total strangers to steal items or money ,
I don’t wanna be around him cause the time he got caught was most likely not the first time , it was Probabaly the 25th time , and he’s very likely gonna do it again .
if he was convicted of shooting the man he found in his bedroom when he came home early, the odds of him doing that again are as close to zero as It can get .
When my neighbor got out of welding school he took the first job offer he got .
turns out the place hired mostly convicted felons ,
It was actually a good experience for him, they were just normal people who did stupid stuff and had learned their lesson and no longer were addicted to whatever drugs they were on at the time they did whatever they did .
but the business owner hired convicts because he knew they would work for low pay because almost always a condition of their parole or probation was that they get a job .
So these welders were driving 60-90 minutes to work twice a day for slightly over minimum wage because no one else would hire them .
And the low pay also applies to the few welders working there that were not convicts.

If you're looking at that area, where are you located?

It’s just something the recruiter tossed out. Claims it’s more money than OTR. I have a sneaky suspicion it’s because it’s a PITA, traffic with no decent parking options.Another Canadian driver Thanks this. -

yeah well. I’m coming out of retirement with no verifiable work history. I got my own CDL because I was told that would help, but it hasn’t. I need a place to get about 6 months experience and I’ve been beating my head against the wall all week. Had a conditional offer from CFI but they decided my school didn’t qualify because I tested in a daycab not a sleeper. So...I’m afraid I have to do something I don’t want to do.Click to expand...LilRedRidingHood and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -

As far as no verifiable employment goes...self employment part time on a cash basis will work. All non DOT. They just have you sign a form stating that was what you were doing for employment. No big deal. Just stay away from employment contracts. The ones mentioned do not require a contract.Click to expand...
and I just double checked with swift Thursday, in case having the license made a difference. It didn’t.LilRedRidingHood and Another Canadian driver Thank this. -

I had emailed them on Thursday, didn’t get a chance to follow up yesterday.
You drive flat for them, not the NY/NJ turn?
That’s pretty good mileage. Most people who’ve heard of the company—like the guy who ran my school—say they don’t pay at all. Good to know.
