When's the last time you had the clutch adjusted?

What would the clutch have to do with this?

    Ironhauler Thanks this.

I dunno if a slipping clutch would feel like a "stutter." I think that's what Freightrunner had on his mind when asking about the clutch.

I had C14 that had a similar feel to it, the engine felt like it was missing a bit but more so at heavy load and in higher gears. The company replaced injector harnesses and did some other work. Turned out, during the last B service, the tech replaced the fuel filter, and put in another o-ring, but didn't take the old o-ring out.. so basically there was 2 there and it was sucking a bit of air under heavy throttle. I'm not saying that 2 rings is your problem, but there could be an air leak that is causing it, not just something electrical.

I had that happen a while back and found out it was an injector. It would stutter and miss under load going up hill.

Check each individual exhaust with a temp sensor. I see you did get injectors replaced, maybe you got a pass thru connector going bad.

I have a N14 in a 2000 Pete 377. We inframed it back this past March. Pulls well, decent mileage @ 6.0 pulling RR containers and approx 6.5 pulling 44,000+ in regular 53' reefer. I have a little stutter in 4th and 5th gear just as I change up to either of these. Smooths out right away but from 1200 to 1400 I get this stutter about 75% of the time. I keep saying I need to address this but loads keep coming in and I keep hauling freight. I didn't change out my injectors in the inframe so that is my first stop on the "Fix It" train. I did use all genuine Cummins parts including the injector wiring tails inside the head and pass thru's. Have seen these cause many headaches. I'm really interested to hear what you ultimately find as the problem.

    Thx!!

    Happy Holidays Everyone!! :biggrin_25525:

you have bad fuel flow... common problem is that the check valve on the ecm cooling place is getting clogged or the passages in the cooling plate are obstructed, fuel though these is not filtered. next i would change engine position sensor(35$) it gets oil soaked over time and acts up and seldom throws a ecm code. Then i would replace fuel soleniod on fuel pump. of course assuming the fuel filter is not clogged up. Injectors normally throw a ecm code.

Me too. #6 injector. Only way they cold find it was to hook the KW dealer laptop up to the port under the dash and go for a ride when loaded. Cylinder cutout test would not find it.
