625 what is horrible fuel mileage to you? I drove an 07 freightliner glider with a 525 celect plus this summer and got 5 mpg pulling a 5 axle scrap trailer. My 04 mbn barely gets that in the winter with a reflash. Before the reflash iit was closer to 4.5 pulling the same trailer

I have been told too turn down my fuel pump and put a Pittsburgh power turbo on my n14 and that wwill help my fuel mileage. Will my truck set at 460 have enough hp to spool this turbo.

I have done something similar by making my celect engine a celect plus. In my case I had to change a lot stuff in order to make it work correctly. In your situation, it's just a matter of changing the OEM harness and checking each wire to make sure it goes to the right place, you will need a wiring diagram for both engines to do that. The basic engines are the same so you you won't need to change much in order to make it work.
As for fuel milage, I average 7.5 pulling a roll tarp with 47,000 pounds. My engine was a 93 celect 430hp and is now a 96 celect plus 330 hp. I have tried all the horsepower ratings and found the lower hp to be the most efficient while the highest being the 525 to be the worst in fuel economy. I have 3.9 rears and a super 10 trans.

I have been told to turn up the fuel pump or turn it down and put a bigger turbo on. Is the fuel pump adjustable on an n14 celect.

The fuel pump is just that a fuel pump nothing more, you can just replace the electronics. You will not have the intake air sensor, on the celect. They gave decent fuel mileage as a 460/ 430. you do not drive with HP.

If you have a N14 that was sold for use in North America then the fuel pump is just a regular fuel pump. The injectors are electronically controlled. There is such a thing where the N14 has no electronics and has the old PT fuel pump, (the one you can mess around with and change fuel pressures to change hp). These where sold to South American countries only.

ESP is an option for the N14 to have two horsepower and torque curves. Not all N14 are ESP. It has basically a low and high horsepower rating. Electronically, based on engine load, it will switch automatically between the two power ratings as needed. ESP stands for Electronic Smart Power. It was a fairly popular option, but information is hard to find as this was mostly popular in the mid-late nineties. If you read the engine data plate, it should have two horsepower and torque ratings.
